This was our fourth charter with Captain Ruben. He always puts us on fish! My family would never consider anyone else when we fish South Padre Island!
Ruben was a great guide! We had so much fun and caught a tun of fish. Great for all ages and levels of fishers!
We had a great time with Captain Garcia. Captain Garcia is extremely knowledgeable and professional. I would highly recommend booking your next fishing adventure with Captain Garcia.
Reuben was a very nice guy, but his view of guiding clients needs to change, l guess he fishes only go reds and specks. We only fished shipping channels with croakers on bottom. We caught a few specks, no redfish and spent most of the time cleaning seaweed off line. I mentioned to him I wanted to catch reds and mangrove snapper in the beginning. The only bait we had was croaker and I have been fishing the island many years and several other guides and we always caught a lot of the snapper, specks and redfish. He may be a good fisherman but having clients catch a lot of fish is the most important thing or at least trying, we did not, used only one type of bait, one location just different parts of it spaced out a little. I would have rather traveled 10 more miles and caught no more fish than staying in the same place catching gafftops and few specs mixed in, boring morning and in his defense we would have had a few more keepers maybe 4 or 5 if they had not raised length limit from 15 to 17”. We wound up the day with 3 keeper trout out of group of 4 on boat. Should have paid more attention to other review. Sorry will not.be using this service again …
Ruben was a nice enough guy, but I hire guides to put us on fish. He did not. At least not the fish we asked to target. He put us on a lot of Hard heads ie catfish. Pretty disappointed in his guiding skills to be honest. We live on the island and know most guides. Everyone we know brought in limits of reds and trout that day! Nice boat but in the end we pay for results of which he failed. Won't be using him again. …
We’ve fished in Southern Texas many times and this was our best trip yet! Ruben was really friendly and patient. He was very knowledgeable about the different species of fish and knew all the hot spots!
Captain Reuban was awesome! Caught several different species, Mangove Snapper, snook, reds, and specks! Great day! Seriously awesome boat as well!!
Just retuned from our trip with Captain Ruben and it was excellent. Ruben went the extra mile all morning to make sure my wife and kids all had a great experience. Ruben was a wonderful guide and made sure we were always set with bait and tips for how to catch the big fish. Of all the captains I have had, he was far and away the most patient and informative. …
Captain was knowledgeable and respectful. He displayed a great deal of patience with the boys and us. It was as if we had known him for many years. I look forward to fishing with him again.
Brought my dad down to fish in the gulf. We all had so much fun. The thunderstorm ended things a little early but that’s no fault of Rueben’s. Reuben was wonderful and very helpful. Overall wonderful experience.
Captain Reuben took myself, my wife & four kids (16-21) on a morning trip. Absolutely outstanding. Reuben took us 10 miles north to some fishing shacks to fish the breaks. Were quickly catching black drum & whiteys. Very hospitable & knowledgeable. Very happy we decided to go with Captain Reuben. Weather was beautimus. Would love to fish with him again. 5 ⭐‘s …

He was helpful and informative and we walked away with 8 large keepers which Ruben cleaned/filleted for us at the end. It was our first fishing charter and it was a great experience for us an our 2 boys (17 & 11). Can’t wait to do another one! …
