Spearfishing & Freediving Barbados

Alex is an AIDA Master Instructor and veteran spearfishing guide who has called Barbados home since 2011. Originally from Cornwall in the UK, he built his life around the ocean and now shares that passion through guided spearfishing adventures and freediving courses designed for both beginners and experienced divers.

With more than 12 years of professional experience, Alex holds 11 national freediving records in Barbados, reaching depths of 92 meters (301 feet) in constant weight. He is deeply committed to sustainable hunting practices and actively encourages divers to target invasive lionfish to help protect local reef ecosystems.

Alex is EFR First Aid and CPR certified and was trained as a competition safety diver by Stephen Keenen in 2017. His expertise has been featured on shows such as Food Unwrapped and Original Fare, as well as in major publications and leading freediving podcasts.
