I've been an avid outdoorsman for over 50 years. I offer guided fishing trips during the week on Mark Twain Lake with Crappie trips running April through June and Jug-line trips for catfish September through October. I have a fully equipped 21’ SeaArk and all fishing gear (quality equipment) is provided unless you prefer to use your own. I offer relaxed trips for 1-2 people with the opportunity to put some fish in your cooler. I'm flexible with our start/end time so I can work around your schedule.

My fishing excursions are tailored to the seasonal behavior of crappie, employing a variety of techniques to maximize success. Depending on the time of year and the crappie’s activity patterns, we may focus on targeting brush piles, pole timber, or for roaming fish using Forward-Facing Sonar (FFS). Alternatively, we may cruise the banks using jigs or troll long lining with crankbaits. I offer flexible start and end times to accommodate your schedule, with each trip lasting six hours on the water. All necessary fishing equipment is provided, although you are welcome to use your own if preferred. Additionally, I offer fish cleaning services to ensure a convenient and enjoyable experience for you.

I give my experience with Captain Ken five stars! The day started out overcast with light showers. But once the clouds parted the action began. I caught my limit of croppies quickly over the next few hours! Captain Ken knew where to go and how to change course to meet the current conditions. He was knowledgeable about this type of fishing and with his coaching, I caught more than anyone on the surrounding boats. Captain Ken's equipment options as far as poles, jigs and electronics are first rate. He is easy and fun to be around and helps you be the best fisherman you can be. Mark Twain Lake is a gorgeous spot and I'll definitely be back to join Captain Ken for another adventure. - CC

5/8 – Out with a lone client today, he was able to pick up a limit in about 3 1/2 hours on a variety of jig colors. The day started out cold and rainy and by midmorning the sky cleared and it warmed up. Jigs, about 1.5 inches worked all day with darker colors being better in the morning and brighter ones working once the sun was up. The bank bite was consistent all day. 5/9 – Out with 2 clients today, the crappie bite was initially okay but slowed by midmorning. Talked with a few people on the water and that seemed to be the norm in the mid-lake area. The bank bite from the day before was off and the fish appeared to have pulled off the bank in 2 – 6 feet of water. The water level appeared to be dropping (water line on the bank) which may have had an effect. Also, some guys mentioned they were electroshocking parts of the lake which may have also had an effect.
