Captain Aaron moved from Indiana to the Florida Keys in 2018 chasing warm weather, clear water, and a life centered around fishing. After learning the trade working on both head boats and private charters as a mate, he eventually earned his captain’s license and began running trips of his own throughout the Keys.

Now based in Islamorada and fishing out of Tavernier, Aaron enjoys sharing everything that drew him to the area in the first place—the fishing, wildlife, scenery, and laid-back atmosphere that make the Keys such a unique place to spend time on the water.

Get out on the reefs and nearshore waters of the Florida Keys with Captain Aaron for a relaxed, hands-on fishing trip out of Tavernier. These trips are designed to keep things simple, productive, and family-friendly while giving anglers of all experience levels a chance to catch a variety of popular Keys species.

Depending on the season and conditions, you may target Yellowtail Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Red Grouper, Kingfish, Barracuda, Spanish Mackerel, Triggerfish, Sharks, and more throughout the day. Fishing primarily focuses on light tackle and bottom fishing techniques, with trips adapting based on what’s biting best and where the fish are holding.

Both shorter reef trips and longer half-day outings are available. The 3-hour reef fishing trip is a great option for families, beginners, or anyone looking for a quick and easy day on the water, with multiple flexible start times available throughout the day. Half-day trips give you more time to work additional reefs and nearshore structure while targeting a wider variety of species.

You’ll be fishing aboard a 25’ Sea Hunt Gamefish equipped for comfortable reef and nearshore fishing with room for up to 6 passengers. The boat features a T-top for shade, comfortable seating, live bait well, fishfinder, GPS, private enclosed toilet, and plenty of storage for drinks and snacks.

All rods, reels, tackle, bait, fishing licenses, and permits are included with the trip. At the end of the day, your catch will also be cleaned and filleted at the dock at no additional charge.

These trips are built to be approachable and flexible—whether you’re introducing kids to fishing, filling the cooler with snapper, or just looking to spend a few hours on the water in the Keys.
