I have been guiding fishing and duck hunting trips for 20 years. I owned a KOA campground in West, TX for 18 years, and I guided part time on Lake Whitney for 10 of those years. After I sold the campground I moved to Oklahoma and started guiding fishing and hunting trips full time on Lake Texoma. I have been guiding Striper and Catfish trips on Texoma full time for 10 years.

I have a friendly and easy going personality. I am always happy to answer questions and share my knowledge about the lake and fishing tecniques. Customer service is important to me, and I have many return customers because of the way I treat people and put them on the fish!

I never got into watching sports. I was always to busy hunting during football season to find an interest.

Coffee, Coca Cola, and an occasional Beer or quality sipping Tequilla.

What was your last halloween costume?

The Grim Reaper. Apparently it was a good costume. My dogs didnt recognise me and just about lost their mind over it.

What do you want for Christmas this year?

My list doesn't change. Bolt action rifle in any caliber .27 or higher. I'm easy to shop for. There is no such thing as owning to many guns.

How did you get started guiding?

I started taking my campground customers fishing. From there word of mouth expanded rapidly.

What makes you different from other guides?

Positive attitude, friendly personality, and top notch customer service. Anybody can catch fish on Lake Texoma. My customers return year after year because I am friendly, patient, and fun to be around.

Late May 2026

The shad have finished spawning, so the stripers have moved off shore into 35 - 40 feet of water. Birds are working over mixed schools.of Stripers and White Bass for the first hour after sunrise, but then they go back to deep water for the rest of the day. We are catching limits daily of medium size fish from 14" - 18"; with a fish or two over 20".

Early May 2026

The shad have been spawning along the rocks at the bridges. They are also spawning around rocks in shallow water near the shore. We have been casting live shad under popping corks up close to the bridge rocks and catching stripers from sunrise until 9:30am, and again in late afternoon until an hour before sundown. 2" Threadfin tend to catch smaller stripers as fast as I can bait the hooks. 3"-4" gizzard shad are catching larger fish, but at a much slower rate.

Late March 2026

Fishing has been tough all over the lake in the mornings, but afternoons have been fantastic. The birds have been working down by the dam between 2pm- 5:30pm, there are small stripers feeding at the surface, but the big stripers are underneath them. The larger stripers are taking advantage of the wounded and dead shad that the small stripers are leaving behind.
