Sometimes, as a fisherman, you have to assess what it is you are doing. One day this bait works great, the next day it wont catch a thing. We have to change and adapt, to present what the fish will eat. But as a fishing guide, we have to be able adapt on the fly, and adapt again, if need be, and also eventually be right. The whole of a lake goes through changes, and things like flooding and draughts effect most reservoirs greatly.

I am a trophy fisherman. And since trophy fish dont come easy, it means I have to not give in to the temptation to just go with the flow. 4lbs, 6lbs, even 8lbs striper are NOT trophy class fish. They are fun and thrilling to catch but in the end, they are going into a freezer bag, not on the wall.
I only get two kinds of clients. The anglers who want to put one on the wall or take pictures with a beast and release it, they generally dont care that much about a bag of fillets, or folks who just want to catch fish, and have fun, and take a couple bags of fillets home.
These two types of trips require totally different approaches... Or do they?
Until recently I disregarded anything but the trophy end of it. That is my nature. The other guides on the lake know I dont flock to the boats, and drop on the shooling fish, even when they are good sized fish.
No offense to those guides, but when I see 3 or 5 or 12 boats in an area, splashers and thumpers going, I see a "school" of guides. There is no trophy striper near them. Maybe a 9 pounder or two, who still feed with the schools, but that 15+ pounder does
The shad have finished spawning, so the stripers have moved off shore into 35 - 40 feet of water. Birds are working over mixed schools.of Stripers and White Bass for the first hour after sunrise, but then they go back to deep water for the rest of the day. We are catching limits daily of medium size fish from 14" - 18"; with a fish or two over 20".

Fishing has been tough all over the lake in the mornings, but afternoons have been fantastic. The birds have been working down by the dam between 2pm- 5:30pm, there are small stripers feeding at the surface, but the big stripers are underneath them. The larger stripers are taking advantage of the wounded and dead shad that the small stripers are leaving behind.

The fishing is tough as the lake flooded blood red, and no oxygen in water to stir up stripers! We tried our best with live bait and artificial but still tough! Lots catfish tho!

The Stripers are preparing for the spring spawn, so they are fattening up for the run. We are looking for birds circling over large schools of Stripers that are feeding on shad they have pushed to the surface. The bite has been aggressive on both live bait and artificial white slabs. Lake Texoma has the most generous limit in the state of 10 fish per person. Give us a call and reserve your date to experience the fishing at Lake Texoma; the Striper capital of the world!

Sriper fishing has been excellent on Lake Texoma. The birds are working over the schools of Stripers that are feeding on shad at the surface. The fish that are surfacing have been on the small side, but we are catching the larger stripers on live bait about 30 feet below the surfacing fish. We are also catching fish on white Bomber slabs. Drop the slab to bottom and crank it fast 5 turns at a time with a 1 second pause between the 5 handle turns. Stripers will usually hit during the pause. Daytime temps have been in the high...

The summer has been tough, brutal work the extreme heat. It's him and miss mostly but everyone seems to understand and just enjoy the outing and being together. Fall has just arrived but still hit, but people are beginning to book again. With cooler weather it would be lights out. We get out early fish 4. 5 hours and clean fish. Everyone loves the great outdoors and fishing of course! I am heading out now with 4 people and we will see. I have guided over 40 plus years and a military (Navy) man . Last few weeks been slow but had about 3 trips under winter conditions. Winter here is in low 70s to high 40s so not that bad. Caught limit of striper each trip with lots big fish over 30 inches. Fish deep mostly but I been trolling shallows and catching lots fish at same spot each trip. Little breeze always helps but most time in higher winds which blows fish into shallow humps, just in my trolling range .

You might get lucky (as long as things are in-season).

Had a great time on the water catching some fish today. Condition's weren't the best but fishing was fun. Captain Michael definitely knows the lake and can put you on the fish.
John was very friendly and nice. We almost hit our limit on striper fish! He took us to some great spots using his equipment, we were able to pluck them right out! Wonderful experience for my wife and I. Would definitely recommend.
Had a blast, fishing with Tim took me Back to my younger days fishing with my Uncle who taught me how to fish. Limited out on strippers. Highly recommend.
Amazing experience, guide was extremely experienced and a great dude, had us on fish almost immediately and kept them coming throughout, captain experiences also made the booking easy and were extremely helpful with any questions we had
