About Your Trip
If you're looking to explore the Gulf of Mexico beyond the beaches of Naples, Captain Matt offers a variety of offshore trips tailored to your time, experience level, and appetite for adventure. With over 20 years of local fishing knowledge, Captain Matt knows how to get you on the fish—whether you're after a laid-back morning trip or a deepwater run in search of something bigger.
All trips take place aboard a brand-new 2025 34’ Freeman,
a top-of-the-line offshore fishing machine built for speed, stability, and comfort. This boat is outfitted with the newest MinnKota Riptide GPS trolling motor with Spot-Lock, which means you’ll spend less time anchoring and more time fishing directly over the structures that hold fish. You’ll also stay fully connected thanks to onboard Starlink internet and full cell service throughout the day—perfect for sharing your catches in real time or just staying in touch.
For anglers short on time or looking to introduce friends and family to offshore fishing, the half-day 4-hour trip runs 10 to 30 miles offshore and focuses on nearshore reefs and wrecks. These waters are home to a variety of species, including Snapper, Grouper, Kingfish, and Spanish Mackerel depending on the season. It’s a great way to get in on the action without committing to a full day on the water.
If you want a little more range and time to fish, the 6-hour three-quarter day trip ventures 25 to 40 miles offshore. This opens up access to deeper structure with less pressure, increasing your chances at species like Lane Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Red Grouper, and the occasional Cobia. There’s also more flexibility to try different techniques or target multiple zones.
For anglers ready to go the distance, the full-day 8-hour trip heads 50 to 60 miles offshore to target some of the Gulf’s most productive and hard-to-reach fishing grounds. These longer runs give you access to bigger fish and more variety, with opportunities to catch Red Snapper (in season), Grouper, Vermilion Snapper, Amberjack, and more depending on the conditions and time of year.
Captain Matt provides everything you’ll need for your day on the water, including high-quality rods, reels, bait, tackle, and fishing licenses. He’ll also clean and bag your catch back at the dock so you can enjoy it fresh that evening. Just bring along your food, drinks, sun protection, and a cooler for your cleaned fish.
Whether it’s your first time fishing offshore or you’re a seasoned angler looking to explore new ground, Captain Matt is dedicated to giving you a top-tier experience on the Gulf. With great gear, a top-performing boat, and a dialed-in local guide, you're in for a memorable day on the water.
