About Your Trip

Head out with Captain James Hinton for an epic day chasing all kinds of inshore denizens on the bountiful waters of South Texas! The intricate bay systems surrounding Rockport are rich in natural beauty as well as with prized fish species. The captain is a lifelong and cordial angler who knows how to make your trip fun and successful, catering to your skill level and goals for the day to ensure you have the best possible time out on the water!

You will be riding out into the bay aboard his 23' Majeck bay boat that can handle very skinny water that the bay and flats demand if you want to get on the fish! From Jack Crevalle, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Ladyfish, to Redfish no species is safe when Captain James Hinton's boat is out on the water. He typically likes to use light tackle rigs throwing artificial and live bait to drift the bays, or sneak up on fish sunbathing on the flats!

Captain James will bring all the necessary supplies for your day out on the water (rods, reels, tackle, and bait) so all you need to bring is your favorite snacks and drinks, your sun protection, and a Texas fishing license and you will be all set for a wonderful day out in beautiful South Texas wearing out the fish!

About Your Guide

Captain James's wife and he built a life from the ground up and made a living out of owning and operating their family farm. They raised three kids the way God intended and after two of the three moved out, the captain and his wife then started to reflect on the life they made. After years of intensive labor, Captain James decided that it was time for a change. He has fished for the entirety of his life and when he learned that he could make a career of it, he dove right in. The captain began to spend time in the Rockport area and stuck around for about 5 years before making the decision that becoming fisherman was a career he would like to pursue.

Rough water , lots of rain the day before and we still caught fish. Ran thru whole tank of gas looking for fish at several spots and caught several At each spot. At end of the day. Ended up with several big ziplocks of fish fillets and james was very kind and patient for our first time boaters. Would recommend to anyone who wants to have a good time and watch a person who truly cares about his clients Thanks again. Billy and family

Took wife and two kids (10 and 6) on half day morning trip. Captain James had everything ready to go when we arrived. Great communication, puts you on fish, and makes sure everyone is having fun. We caught good size drum and red fish. Thanks for a great time!
