About Your Trip

Tucked beneath the breathtaking Wind River Range, the Green River is a remote, wild, and trout-rich paradise—and it just so happens to be Jason’s personal favorite.

This full-day experience takes you well off the beaten path—about 50–70 miles from Jackson Hole—into a river system that stretches for more than 60 miles and offers a completely different feel from the rivers closer to town. It’s a place where you can truly get lost in the rhythm
of the water, far from the crowds and closer to what brought you out here in the first place.

The Green River is teeming with variety: Loch Leven Browns, Scottish Browns, Cutthroats, Rainbows, Cutt-Bows, and even the occasional Brook Trout. Long, meandering floats are the name of the game here, and the diversity of fish—and the scenery—make every bend in the river a new adventure.

This trip is perfect for anglers who want a more immersive, full-day escape (6–10 hours). Your guide will provide transportation if needed and will customize the float to maximize your shots at fish and your enjoyment of this high-country gem.

All gear is provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own rod—we recommend 4- to 6-weights for the best experience.

Lunch is included, with an option to upgrade to a grilled riverside feast of BBQ chicken or buffalo burgers for the full backcountry treatment.

Jason is originally from Vermont and has had a passion for fishing and the outdoors since he was old enough to hold a fishing rod. After moving to Jackson Hole, WY in 1999 to pursue his passion for snowboarding he took up fly fishing. It wasn’t long before he got the bug, literally! Spending the next five summers dedicated to exploring the waters in the region he learned just how special of a place he was in. It was obvious to Jason that he was meant to become a guide. Many years of working in restaurants as a chef and sommelier have taught Jason what high end customer service was all about. Combining Jason’s passion for fishing and the outdoors with his excellent customer service skills made for an easy transition onto the river providing a first class angling experience. Now he is honored and privileged to be the owner of the outfit. Other Guides on their team include: Byron, Tim, Josh, Trevor, & Dave.

We had an awesome time with Jason on our full day float on the Snake. Caught so many cutthroat trout we lost count and were too busy catching to take many pictures. Caught em on dry flies, nymphs, and streamers. Jason was fantastic switching flies to get the bites and was super patient when we snagged on the bank…Jason also makes an awesome lunch on the water. Great guy and look forward to running it...
