About Your Trip

Join Captain Denny for a sight-fishing trip focused on Redfish in extremely shallow water. This fishery includes nearly 800 square miles of shallow flats and backwaters, giving anglers access to a vast area of fishable water. Thanks to the shallow-running nature of the boat, you'll often be fishing in places that many other boats can't reach.

The focus of this trip is spotting Redfish in the shallows and making accurate presentations to visible fish. Sight
fishing is a hands-on, interactive style of fishing that emphasizes observation, patience, and casting accuracy, making every fish a unique challenge.

To help account for weather conditions, trips are booked within a three-day weather window. About a week before your trip, Captain Denny will work with you to choose the best day within that window based on the forecast.

You'll be fishing from a 20' jet boat equipped specifically for shallow-water fishing. The boat features a jet drive, trolling motor, casting platform with a net, and a poling platform. These features allow Captain Denny to navigate shallow areas and position anglers for sight-fishing opportunities throughout the day.

Trips begin at 7:00 AM and are suitable for anglers of all experience levels. Whether you're new to sight fishing or have spent years targeting fish on the flats, Captain Denny is happy to share what he's learned and tailor the day to your experience level.

All rods, reels, tackle, and fishing gear are included. We recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you'd like to have with you during the trip. Canned beer is allowed onboard if you'd like to bring a few drinks along for the day.

If you're interested in exploring shallow-water habitat and targeting Redfish in a visual, active style of fishing, this trip offers a chance to experience a unique fishery with Captain Denny.

Moving to Fl in early 2000’s I guided inshore for Reds and Snook for 5 years. My home state of Va called me back to stumble on to the best Redfish action to be had on the fly. I guided inshore for here except Jan-April in Fl.
