About Your Trip

Find out what you’ve been missing in Lafitte with Captain Michael—where the marsh meets the magic. Whether you’re an early riser looking to sneak in a morning bite or ready to chase down Redfish until the sun sets, Captain Michael’s got the local knowledge, gear, and boat to put you on fish and keep the good times rolling.

You’ll be targeting inshore favorites like Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Black Drum, and Sheepshead using a mix
of techniques that could include light tackle, popping, jigging, drifting, or bottom fishing—whatever’s working best that day. Captain Michael will help you dial it in.

Your ride for the day is a 22’ Blazer Bay center console that comfortably fits up to 4 anglers. It’s loaded with top-tier electronics, a wireless trolling motor, live bait well, and a built-in ice chest (with ice included!) for your drinks and fish. Rods, reels, tackle, and lures are all provided, and fish cleaning and bagging are included in every trip.

The 4-hour trip is perfect if you’re short on time but still want to hit the water hard. Starting around 6am, you’ll chase an early bite and be back at the dock by 10am with cleaned and bagged fillets in hand.

The half-day trip runs a bit longer, giving you more time to cover ground and adjust tactics. Typically running from 6am to around noon or 1pm, this is a great option if you're looking to fully enjoy the morning marsh bite without committing the whole day.

For the hardcore anglers, the 12-hour trip (available Friday through Sunday) is the ultimate Lafitte experience. You’ll fish the morning, take a break for lunch while your catch gets cleaned and packed, then head back out for a new round of action—maybe even switch species or try new techniques.

Kids are welcome on board, and Captain Michael is great with families. Bring snacks, a hat, sunglasses, and non-spray sunscreen. Water is provided, and you're welcome to bring drinks (just no hard liquor or glass). A valid Louisiana fishing license is required for everyone in your group, and some species may have special rules or tags—feel free to ask the captain if you're unsure.

This is what fishing in Lafitte is all about— come and see what you've been missing!
