About Your Trip

Discover what makes fishing in Fort Lauderdale truly unforgettable with Captain Will at the helm. These waters are a gateway to some of the most thrilling offshore action in South Florida, where the Gulf Stream runs close to shore and the fish never seem to stop biting. Whether you're a seasoned angler or new to the sport, you'll have the chance to go head-to-head with a wide range of prized species—think Sailfish cartwheeling across the surface, Blackfin Tuna screaming drag, Wahoo blazing through the spread, and even Hammerhead Sharks testing your strength and stamina.

Depending on the time of year and the day’s conditions, Captain Will will tailor your trip to maximize your chances of success. Trolling, bottom fishing, and kite fishing are all on the table, and if you’ve never tried kite fishing before, you’re in for a real treat. It's an exciting technique that adds a whole new level of challenge and fun to targeting pelagic predators. With Captain Will’s expert guidance and deep local knowledge, you’ll be set up for success no matter your experience level.

You'll be fishing aboard a fully outfitted 46-foot Hatteras Sportfish—an absolute beast of a boat designed for serious offshore work and maximum comfort. This vessel has room for up to six guests and comes equipped with everything you need for a productive and enjoyable day on the water. From outriggers and downriggers to two massive live bait wells, a custom Rybovich fighting chair with rocket launcher, and a tuna tower for spotting fish from afar, no detail has been overlooked. Inside, you’ll find a fully air-conditioned cabin with a galley, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, and a private marine restroom. There’s also plenty of cooler space and ice on board to keep your drinks cold and your catch fresh. Bottled water is provided, and there’s a first mate on deck throughout the trip to keep things running smoothly. The mate will handle everything from rigging gear and landing fish to cleaning and filleting your catch back at the dock. It’s customary to tip your mate 15 to 30 percent for their hard work.

Fishing licenses are included with the trip, so all you need to bring is sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and whatever food and drinks you’d like for the day. A cooler waiting in your car for the cleaned fish is always a good idea.

Trips range from four to eight hours, with something for everyone whether you’re looking for a quick morning run or a full-day offshore mission. On shorter trips, you might stick closer to shore and target King Mackerel, Yellowtail Snapper, or Mahi Mahi depending on what’s biting. Longer trips give you time to venture farther, try a few different techniques, and chase after that bucket list catch—maybe a Sailfish on the kite, a Mutton Snapper off a deep reef, or a massive Bull Shark lurking near a wreck.

This is South Florida sportfishing at its finest. If you’ve been daydreaming about a rod bending under the weight of something big, or hearing the scream of your reel as a pelagic makes a run for the horizon, now’s the time to make it happen. Step aboard, gear up, and get ready to create some unforgettable memories out on the water with Captain Will.

We highly recommend using Capt. Will! Unfortunately the fish weren’t biting much, but Capt. Will and his First Mate made it a fun trip nonetheless. Great boat, plenty of room, bathroom, A/C, etc. We would definitely rebook with them!
