About Your Trip

Get ready for an unforgettable day on the water with Captain Lance out of the charming town of Rock Hall, Maryland! Located on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay, Rock Hall is a laid-back waterfront town known for its scenic marinas, fresh seafood spots, and small-town charm—making it the perfect home base for a family-friendly fishing adventure.

You’ll be fishing aboard Captain Lance’s restored 35’ Markley—a classic Chesapeake Bay vessel built for comfort and
performance. With space for up to 10 guests, this boat is powered by a 370 HP Cummins engine and comes equipped with top-notch navigation tools including GPS, radar, a fishfinder, and a VHF radio. Onboard amenities like a private bathroom, ice box, and a live bait well make this trip enjoyable for anglers of all ages. A professional first mate will also be along for the ride to assist throughout the day (tips are appreciated).

This 5-hour trip focuses on chasing Striped Bass—better known around here as Rockfish—the crown jewel of Chesapeake Bay fishing. Depending on the conditions, you might also reel in White Perch, Catfish, or even the occasional Spanish Mackerel. Captain Lance will tailor the day’s strategy using a variety of proven techniques like light tackle, trolling, bottom fishing, jigging, and drift fishing to maximize your chances of success.

Whether you’re an experienced angler or brand new to fishing, Captain Lance and his crew are committed to making your trip both exciting and easygoing. With decades of experience on the Chesapeake Bay, Captain Lance knows exactly where to go and how to get fish biting—making every trip a fun and memorable experience.

All gear is provided, including rods, reels, tackle, lures, and live bait. The boat is fully licensed, so you won’t need to worry about purchasing a fishing license. At the end of the trip, your catch will be cleaned, filleted, and packed for your cooler free of charge. Just bring along your favorite snacks, drinks, and a sense of adventure!

From serious anglers to first-timers and families, a day on the Chesapeake with Captain Lance is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, connect with your crew, and experience some of the best fishing Maryland has to offer.

Meet Captain Lance—born and raised on the Chesapeake Bay, where chasing Striped Bass on the Susky Flats was more than a hobby—it was a way of life. He got his first boat at 16, and he’s been hooked ever since.

Throughout his 20s and 30s, Lance leveled up fast—owning multiple boats, fishing tournaments across the Chesapeake and Delaware Bays, and eventually joining the pro staff for Fountain Powerboats. From 2005 to 2008, he trailered his 32’ Fountain over 25,000 miles
a year, competing in top-tier Striper tournaments up and down the East Coast.

Today, he brings that same passion and precision to every charter. With decades of experience and a deep love for the Bay, Captain Lance is all about putting you on fish, teaching you the ropes, and making sure you walk away with great catches—and even better memories.
