About Your Trip

Join Captain Ken for a full day of fishing on the legendary Columbia River, right in the Portland Metro area. This private 8-hour trip kicks off at 6:30 AM and is ideal for families or small groups of up to four guests. With expert guidance, top-tier equipment, and access to some of the most productive stretches of river in the Pacific Northwest, you’ll be set up for an incredible day on the water.

Your main
targets are Chinook and Coho salmon along with powerful steelhead—three of the most iconic and sought-after species in the region. Depending on the season and river conditions, Captain Ken will put you on the best bite, whether that means backtrolling plugs, drifting bait, or running spinners. These fish are famous for their explosive runs and acrobatic fights, making them a thrill for anglers of all skill levels.

You’ll fish aboard a 2023 20’ Alumaweld powered by a Mercury 150 HP engine, cruising at up to 35 mph to get you to the bite fast. The boat is equipped with a trolling motor, GPS, and fish finder, along with everything you need for a smooth day of fishing. All rods, reels, and tackle are provided, so you can focus on the fun part—hooking into chrome-bright salmon and steelhead.

Just bring your hat, sunscreen, polarized sunglasses, warm clothes, rain gear, food, drinks, and a valid fishing license. Captain Ken will handle the rest, ensuring you’ve got the right setup and techniques to maximize your chances of success.

If you’re ready to chase world-class salmon and steelhead in a beautiful Pacific Northwest setting, this Columbia River trip with Captain Ken is a perfect choice.

My dad and I took an 8 hour guided trip on the Willamette. Ken is very knowledgeable, friendly, professional and prepared. His equipment is all impressive and well maintained, he carefully explained safety procedures, he also happily shared a lot of valuable information with us about future fishing endeavors.
We caught a 20 inch “15 lb” silver salmon.
We will definitely book another trip with him, likely for springers!
