About Your Trip

If you're looking for the real deal in saltwater fly fishing, join Captain Marlon for a world-class adventure through the pristine flats of southern Belize. Based in Placencia and operating across nearby islands and even Hopkins, Marlon brings over 25 years of guiding experience—and a lifetime of fishing knowledge passed down from his father, Charlie, one of Belize’s pioneering professional guides.

Born and raised in Placencia, Marlon knows every mangrove pocket, reef edge, and tidal
shift across this incredible fishery. Whether you’re hunting for your first Bonefish, chasing your Permit grand slam, or locked in a battle with a rolling Tarpon, you’ll get multiple shots throughout the day—guided by someone who’s spent decades dialing in the patterns, moon phases, and micro-movements of this unique fishery.

Full-Day Trips:

A full day on the flats means chasing tides, changing positions, and unlocking multiple feeding windows across the reef and shallows. You’ll have time to stalk spooky Permit, sight-cast to Bonefish, or go toe-to-toe with Tarpon cruising the backcountry channels. With Marlon on the poling platform, you’ll cover serious ground, adapting to the conditions and making every cast count.

Half-Day Trips:

Short on time? A half-day charter is perfect for getting on the water and into fish—even with a tight schedule. With the right tides, you’ll still have plenty of shots at Bonefish, Permit, and Tarpon, especially in the early morning or late afternoon light. It’s a great introduction to Belizean fly fishing, and Marlon will tailor the outing to your goals and experience.

Fishing Style & Gear:

This trip is 100% tailored for saltwater fly anglers, but if you need gear, no problem—Marlon can provide fly rods, reels, and all necessary tackle. You’ll be sight fishing in skinny water, watching for tails, wakes, and shadows before making your presentation. Whether you're an experienced flats angler or trying fly fishing for the first time, Marlon's calm, encouraging guidance makes for a productive and enjoyable day.

Target Species:

- Permit – The ultimate flats challenge. Spooky, powerful, and incredibly rewarding.
- Tarpon – These silver kings will test your gear and your grit.
- Bonefish – Fast, abundant, and the perfect fish to sharpen your skills.

Trip Includes:

- Fly rods, reels & tackle (if needed)
- Drinks (water and soft drinks provided)
- Lunch included on full-day trips
- Expert guiding and fly fishing instruction

This is more than just a fishing trip—it’s a cultural connection to one of the most respected fly fishing families in Belize. With Marlon at your side, you’re learning from a guide who’s grown up on these waters and built his life around sharing them responsibly with others.

If Permit, Tarpon, and Bonefish are on your list—Marlon will put you on fish!

My father, Charlie, was one of Belize’s first professional guides, and he taught me how to read the tides, adapt to moon phases, and poling the flats. Born and raised in Placencia, I’ve been chasing Bonefish, Permit, and Tarpon since I could hold a rod. That early start gave me a deep appreciation for the sport and a commitment to conservation for future generations.
