Get ready for a full day of bluewater excitement with Captain Clay’s 12-Hour Wahoo Trolling Trip. Designed for anglers who want to go the distance, this offshore adventure takes you deep into the Gulf in search of high-speed, hard-hitting Wahoo, along with a variety of other pelagic and reef species that may show up along the way.

Trolling is the name of the game on this trip, with a focus on fast-moving waters where Wahoo are known to strike with incredible power and speed. Throughout the day, you’ll cover a lot of ground and keep lines in the water as you troll over ledges, drop-offs, and offshore structures. While Wahoo is the top target, you may also come across Mahi Mahi, Amberjack, Great Barracuda, and other predators drawn to the same bait-rich zones.

Fishing takes place aboard Captain Clay’s 34’ Hatteras sportfishing boat, which offers the ideal setup for long offshore runs. Powered by twin 330HP Cummins engines and fully restored in 2023, the boat is built for performance and comfort. You’ll enjoy amenities like air conditioning, a restroom, a full kitchen, a flybridge, live bait well, and plenty of deck space to relax or battle your catch. With room for up to six anglers, it’s a great choice for friends, families, or dedicated fishing crews.

In addition to trolling, depending on the bite and conditions, you may switch things up with bottom fishing or jigging around productive reef and wreck areas. Along the way, there’s always the chance to run into species like Red and Black Grouper, Mutton Snapper, Lane Snapper, and even Blacktip Sharks.

Captain Clay provides everything you need for a successful trip, including rods, reels, tackle, lures, live bait, fishing licenses, and the assistance of a professional first mate. All you need to bring is your lunch, plenty of drinks, and show up 15 minutes before departure ready for a full day offshore.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.
You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.
We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.
In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
