About Your Trip

Hop on board with Captain Chris and explore the "World's Luckiest Fishing Village"! The nearshore waters around Destin are a great spot to catch some sought-after fish without going too far from the dock.

Captain Chris will help you target a variety of species on this 4 to 8-hour nearshore adventure, including Red Snapper, Red Grouper, Gag Grouper, Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, Amberjack, Triggerfish, Dorado (Mahi Mahi), and even sharks. To target these fish, you'll be using a variety of techniques such as light tackle, bottom fishing and trolling. Just let Captain Chris know which fish you want to catch and he'll get you set up with the best method!

You’ll be fishing aboard a 26' center console with two 150 HP engines and enough seating to accommodate up to 6 passengers comfortably. She can fish 4 people at one time and has a restroom.

Captain Chris recommends that you arrive at the East Pass Marina no later than 5 minutes before your departure time. You can bring a cooler with food and/or drinks. Adult beverages in moderation. Captain Chris will provide all rods, reels, tackle, and licenses. Live bait is not included but can be purchased prior to trip.

You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.
We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
The deposit for this trip is non-refundable except for weather-related cancellations. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.
In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Captain Chris is an excellent captain! I'll only be requesting him for my off shore excursions from here on out, until he decides to hang out up. You should, too! He really knows his stuff and is well versed in explaining it to ppl like me that need it explained. Very fair, but isn't afraid to tell you what you need to do, as expected. The experience itself was fun, they were glad they went, but there were some definite downsides that made it not worth the price. The fishing equipment was pretty disappointing. The line was actually tied together in multiple spots instead of just being properly restrung, which made reeling difficult and frustrating.

The captain? A bit much. My son, who’s been fishing since he was three, described him as “a prick”...and I’d say that about sums it up. This style of fishing is different from what they’re used to (you don’t set the hook), and instead of guiding him through it, the captain just kept yelling. Not exactly the kind of energy you want when you’re paying for a guided experience.

And then there was the constant chatter about the tip. It came up more than once, which felt super tacky and left a bad taste. At the end of the day, they caught some fish and made some memories, but we wouldn’t book with this guide again.
