About Your Trip

Spend a day exploring Vermont’s rivers, streams, and tributaries on foot with Brian, a local fly fishing guide who brings a deep respect for conservation and a passion for helping anglers of all levels. These walk-and-wade trips offer a quiet, hands-on way to connect with the water and target fish in some of the state’s most scenic settings.
Whether you're interested in Trout in cold, clear rivers or chasing Bass and Pike in warmer waters,
Brian will tailor the day based on current conditions and your goals. These trips are perfect for learning, improving technique, or simply enjoying a peaceful day outside.
You’ll be on the water in places like:
Waters Fished:
- Lake Champlain tributaries (Bass, Pike, warmwater species)
- Otter Creek
- Lamoille River
- Winooski River
- White River
- Black River
Target Species:
- Brook, Brown, and Rainbow Trout
- Smallmouth Bass
- Northern Pike
- Fallfish and other native species
All necessary fly gear is available to borrow at no extra cost. Brian provides flies, tippet, and bottled water, and will work with you throughout the day to help improve casting, reading water, and fish handling techniques. Lunch is not included, but you can stop at a deli or store along the way if needed.
A valid Vermont fishing license is required for anyone participating (available through VT Fish & Wildlife). Your guide will confirm this before the trip begins.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable outing, it’s a good idea to bring polarized sunglasses, a rain layer, spare socks, sunscreen, and any snacks you’d like. Dress in layers suited to the weather and wear soft-soled shoes or wading boots if you have them.
From technical trout waters to laid-back bass creeks, these trips are all about helping you enjoy Vermont’s incredible fisheries on your terms.
