Join Captain Matt for a focused inshore trip targeting Striped Bass out of Wickford. These trips are limited to 3 anglers, giving everyone room to cast and a hands-on experience whether you’re fishing light tackle or working structure.

Depending on the season, you may fish shallow flats in spring and fall or drift productive structure and rock piles. The goal is simple: put you in position to hook quality stripers with proven techniques and top-tier gear.

The Boat

You’ll fish aboard a Romarine Ocean Scout 23, built with a wide platform and large foredeck for maximum casting space and stability. The modified-V hull allows access to skinny water while still handling open-water conditions comfortably. Powered by a 2024 Suzuki 175, the boat delivers reliable performance and safe travel to and from the grounds.

Equipped with a large livewell, Garmin radar, a 12” Lowrance MFD with side scan, and a Minnkota trolling motor for precise positioning, the setup is designed to stay dialed in on fish.

Gear & What’s Included

Captain Matt provides high-quality setups featuring Jigging World rods, Shimano, Van Staal, and Daiwa reels, spooled with Power Pro SSV2 and Seaguar fluorocarbon. All rods, reels, bait, tackle, life jackets, water, and limited snacks are included.

No fishing license is required — the boat is fully licensed to cover all passengers.

What to Bring

Sunscreen (non-spray recommended), hat, sunglasses, lunch for full-day trips, a small cooler for fillets if keeping fish, and a sweatshirt or rain jacket just in case.

Beer and hard seltzers are permitted. No hard liquor or glass bottles. Excessive intoxication will result in an immediate return to the dock without refund.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
