A third-generation local and experienced captain since 2013, Captain Rudy knows these waters like the back of his hand and will put you on fish fast. You’ll spend your time targeting popular inshore species like Redfish and Speckled Trout, with the chance to hook into Tripletail depending on conditions and the time of year. These nutrient-rich flats and estuaries around Apalachicola Bay and St. George Island are loaded with life, making them the perfect setting for a quick fishing adventure.

Your trip begins at Battery Park (locally known as “10 ft Hole”), where you’ll meet Captain Rudy before heading out to a few of his favorite nearby honey holes. With decades of experience fishing these waters, he knows exactly where to go to maximize the action during a shorter trip.

You’ll fish aboard his 24’ Kenner bay boat, powered by a powerful 300 HP Evinrude engine. This smooth and stable vessel is ideal for cruising across the bay and sneaking into shallow inshore waters where the fish like to hang out.

Captain Rudy provides everything you’ll need for a successful trip including rods, reels, tackle, bait, and fishing licenses. Just bring your favorite drinks, snacks, and a good attitude, and get ready for a fun few hours on the water.

I was born and raised in Apalachicola, Florida, and I’m proud to be a fourth-generation local. My family’s roots run deep in this area, and much of my life has been shaped by the waters and wild places that make Apalachicola so special.

My grandfather served as the caretaker for St. Vincent Island when it was privately owned by Mr. Lee Loomis, and through him I developed an early connection to the land and the surrounding waters. I spent many of my early years living on Bull Island, which was also owned by Mr. Loomis at the time. Growing up in such a unique environment gave me a firsthand appreciation for the natural beauty, wildlife, and quiet rhythm of life along the Gulf Coast.

Today, I hold a 100 Ton USCG Master Captain’s License and enjoy sharing the place I’ve called home my entire life. With a lifetime of local knowledge and experience on the water, I take pride in showing others what makes Apalachicola Bay and its surrounding estuaries so remarkable. Whether it’s the scenery, the wildlife, or simply the feeling of being out on these historic waters, there’s something here that keeps people coming back.

You will be responsible for your own gear. Rudy will be in touch to discuss details before the trip.
You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.
We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.
In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
