About Your Trip

Get out on the beautiful waters of Lake Michigan for a hands-on fishing trip targeting world class salmon and trout! Fishing out of Port Washington, these trips are built around staying on active fish and making the most of your time on the lake. The scenery is spectacular and the fishing is world class! We often enjoy an amazing sunrise over the water on a morning trip or a peaceful sunset over land on an afternoon/evening trip.

Depending on the season, you’ll be targeting a mix of Chinook and Coho salmon, lake trout, brown trout, and steelhead. Captain Dave and his mate handle the setup, positioning, and adjustments throughout the trip—you focus on fighting the fish and enjoying the experience. We also offer specialized salmon and trout fishing tutorial sessions where we teach you how to set lines and learn the rationale behind why and how we target the fish in the areas we fish. Just let us know if you prefer a personalized tutorial or a more traditional charter fishing experience before you arrive.

The Experience

These trips focus on trolling, a proven and effective method on Lake Michigan that allows you to cover water and find schools of fish throughout the day. Whether you’re a first-timer or experienced angler, the approach is straightforward and productive, with the crew guiding you every step of the way.

You’ll be fishing aboard a 28’ sportfishing boat equipped with modern electronics, downriggers, and a full cabin with an enclosed restroom. The setup is comfortable and well-suited for a full day on the water, with space for up to 4 adult anglers (or up to 6 with children).

All rods, reels, tackle, and lures are included, along with fish cleaning at the end of the trip so you can take your catch home ready to enjoy.

Half Day vs Full Day

Half day trips (5 hours) are the most popular option and a great way to get on the water with steady action. We also offer shorter half day trips (4 hours) on weekdays (Monday thru Friday) at a reduced rate if you're looking for a quick getaway to chase salmon and trout. Morning and afternoon departures are available, with timing adjusted based on conditions and the bite.

Full day trips (8 hours) give you more time to cover water, adjust to changing conditions, and increase your chances at bigger or more consistent fish.

Good to Know

A first mate is typically on board to help run lines and assist throughout the trip. Gratuity of 15–20% is customary.

You’ll need a valid Wisconsin fishing license and Great Lakes trout and salmon stamp for anyone 16 and older. Be sure to bring drinks, snacks, sunglasses, sunscreen, and weather-appropriate clothing.

Families are welcome, and kids are encouraged to join, though trips are best suited for those old enough to enjoy and remember the experience.

With an experienced crew, a comfortable setup, and a focus on keeping things productive, this is a great way to experience Lake Michigan fishing.
