Fish one of the most unique waterways in the world—the Río de la Plata, the widest river on the planet—on a fully guided trip out of Buenos Aires. This fishery offers a mix of freshwater species and changing conditions, giving you a dynamic, hands-on experience from start to finish.

You’ll have the option of half-day, 6-hour, or full-day (8-hour) trips, all tailored to your schedule and the type of fishing you’re after. Trips typically explore the San Fernando section of the river as well as the mouths of the Paraná and Uruguay rivers, where fish concentrate throughout the year.

Depending on conditions, you’ll be targeting species like Golden Dorado, Catfish (including Bagre Amarillo and Bagre Blanco), Pejerrey, Tararira, and Carp. Techniques vary throughout the day, with a focus on bottom fishing, while also mixing in spinning, popping, fly fishing, and drift fishing when conditions allow.

You’ll be fishing aboard a 22’ center console, equipped with GPS, fishfinder, a live bait well, and an onboard toilet for comfort. Everything you need is included—rods, reels, tackle, bait, lures, and your fishing license—along with drinks and snacks. Longer trips can also include lunch, with options available to tailor the experience to your preferences.

For added convenience, transportation is included, with pickup from your hotel and transfer to the marina, making the entire experience smooth and easy from start to finish.

Whether you’re looking for a shorter outing or a full day exploring multiple fishing grounds, this trip is designed to give you a well-rounded experience on one of South America’s most distinctive fisheries.

In addition to his time on the water, Mauricio has a background in managing tourism and service-based operations, which shows in the way he runs his trips—organized, welcoming, and focused on delivering a complete experience. Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a QR Code boarding pass. In the event of inclement weather, our guides will check the conditions and make the final call on whether its safe to go on the trip. If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
