About Your Trip

If you're looking for a different way to spend an evening on the water, join Captain Brandon for a flounder gigging and bowfishing trip in the shallow waters of Apalachicola Bay.

Rather than fishing with traditional rods and reels, you'll cruise the flats under specialized lights searching for fish in shallow water. When a fish is spotted, Captain Brandon will help position the boat and guide you through the process. It's a hands-on style of
fishing that gives you a chance to actively participate from start to finish.

You'll be fishing from a 21' skiff, a boat that's well-suited for navigating the shallow flats and backwater areas around Apalachicola Bay. Its shallow draft allows access to areas where flounder are commonly found after dark, making it a practical platform for nighttime gigging and bowfishing.

Trips generally begin around 7:00 PM, although departure times can be flexible depending on scheduling and conditions.

This trip is suitable for anglers of all experience levels. If you've never been flounder gigging before, Captain Brandon will explain the process and help you get comfortable before getting started.

All equipment is included. We do recommend bringing weather-appropriate clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, and anything else you'd like to have with you during the trip.

If you'd like to keep your catch, fish cleaning is available for an additional fee.

You're also welcome to bring drinks, and canned beer is allowed onboard.

Apalachicola Bay offers miles of shallow water to explore after dark, and flounder gigging provides a completely different experience from traditional rod-and-reel fishing. Captain Brandon enjoys introducing anglers to this style of fishing and sharing the waters he fishes regularly.
