About Your Trip

With over 400 lakes within 30 miles of my front steps, the Brainerd Lakes Area is one of the best multi species freshwater fishing destinations in the world and we love to chase them all. If you wish to pursue one species or several in a day, we have the lakes and the knowledge to make your fishing adventure a top notch experience.

We fish around 30 different lakes within an hour drive of Brainerd. We have a wide range of lakes that we fish. If you wish to target a certain Lake to learn about it we can definitely do that. We actually have had people request a trip where we go explore a new lake and they want to see how we dissect the body of water.

As for the techniques we use, it all depends on the time of year and what we are targeting. Casting, jigging, trolling, live bait rigging, bobber fishing, we do it all.

If you wish to bring your own tackle you can but we do run very good equipment that is equipped exactly foe the technique. Fish cleaning is included on the price.

During the eight hour trips, we can either take a lunch break or you can bring your lunch and we can continue fishing.

The start time of the trip is dependent on the bite. I wanna make sure you get on the water when the best fishing is happening. Of course I can tailor to your needs as well.

I moved to Brainerd in 2001 and worked for Babe Winkelman productions for 15 years. I then worked for Jason Mitchell outdoors for five. I’ve been a full-time fishing guide since.

My first Guide trip was in 1998 while I was in college in Wisconsin. I’ve been guiding independentlyin the Brainerd Lakes since 2002.

Fishing has been my passion ever since I caught my first fish when I was two. I’ve been a part of the fishing industry since 1988 when I was on my first fishing show.

I grew up in West Central Wisconsin and cut my teeth Fishing the backwaters of the Mississippi river as well as the lake in my hometown of Blair Wisconsin. From the age of 10 until I was 14, I fished 1261 straight days getting notoriety from the AP news wire, NBC nightly news, people magazine, ESPN as well as several Fishing shows.

Fishing is more than just a passion for me. I am truly one of the luckiest people in the world to get to do this for a living.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.
