About Your Trip

Experience the art of fly fishing with Captain John on the productive rivers and lakes of central Wisconsin. Whether you're a seasoned fly angler or looking to make your first cast with a fly rod, this trip offers a hands-on opportunity to learn, improve, and enjoy some of the state's most diverse freshwater fisheries.

Your adventure may take you along the Wolf River, Fox River, Lake Poygan, or Lake Butte des Morts, where you'll target species such as Largemouth Bass, Brown Trout, Brook Trout, and Steelhead. Depending on conditions and the fishery being targeted, you'll fish from a 14' Air drift boat or step into the water and wade some of Wisconsin's most productive stretches.

Captain John provides all fly fishing equipment, including rods, reels, flies, and waders, so all you need to bring is weather-appropriate clothing and a willingness to learn. Throughout the trip, he'll share techniques, reading-water strategies, and casting tips to help anglers of all skill levels become more effective on the water.

To keep you comfortable throughout the day, snacks, water, soft drinks, and sandwiches are included. With room for up to two anglers, this is a great trip for friends, family members, or anyone looking to spend quality time on the water while chasing some incredible freshwater fish on the fly.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.
You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.
We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancel up to 1 day before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.
In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
