About Your Trip

Head out from Henderson Harbor with Captain Silas for an 8-hour offshore adventure built around one of Lake Ontario's most impressive cold-water predators: Lake Trout.

This trip gives Silas the time to run farther offshore in search of productive deep-water fishing grounds, typically covering water and adjusting throughout the day based on conditions and where the fish are holding. Lake Trout are the primary target, with opportunities for Brown Trout and Salmon depending on the season and current bite.

Trolling will be the main approach, using a combination of downriggers, dipsy divers, and copper wire to get presentations into the right part of the water column. Silas will adjust speed, depth, and the spread throughout the trip, rotating between spoons, plugs, and bait presentations as needed. Once a rod goes off, he'll help coach you through the fight and get the fish to the boat.

You'll fish aboard Silas's 26' Maycraft, which accommodates up to four guests and is equipped with a 225 HP engine, GPS, fish finder, radar, VHF radio, downriggers, livewell, and the fishing equipment needed for the trip.

Whether you've spent years trolling the Great Lakes or this is your first time fishing Lake Ontario, Silas is happy to explain the techniques and help you get comfortable with the equipment.

Rods, reels, tackle, and bait are provided. Bring food and drinks for the day, weather-appropriate clothing, sunscreen, a hat, polarized sunglasses, and a valid New York fishing license.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.
