About Your Trip

Discover one of Central Indiana's most overlooked fisheries with Jason and his team on a full-day float trip targeting Smallmouth Bass! Most trips take place on the West Fork of the White River just north of Indianapolis, giving you the chance to experience a surprisingly scenic stretch of river while chasing hard-fighting Smallies.

Smallmouth Bass are the primary target, and fly fishing is one of the team's favorite ways to pursue them. Whether you've been
throwing flies for years or have never picked up a fly rod, these trips are open to all experience levels. Your guide can help with everything from casting and presentation to fly selection and reading the river, while experienced anglers can spend the day focusing on putting flies in productive water.

You'll fish from either a drift boat or raft depending on river flows and conditions. Full-day trips run for a minimum of 8 hours, and some days may stretch a little longer when conditions warrant it. With a maximum of 2 anglers per boat, you'll have plenty of room to fish and receive hands-on instruction throughout the day.

While the fishing is the focus, the White River itself is a big part of the experience. These stretches of Central Indiana offer pockets of solitude and scenery that can feel surprisingly removed from nearby Indianapolis and Noblesville. Keep an eye along the banks and overhead as you float, as Bald Eagles, Great Blue Herons, Kingfishers, and other wildlife can make an appearance.

Jason and his team provide everything needed to fish, including rods, reels, tackle, and flies. You're also welcome to bring your own fly setup if you have equipment you prefer. Lunch, snacks, and water are provided during the full-day trip.

All you need to bring is a valid Indiana fishing license, polarized sunglasses, lotion-based sunscreen, and clothing appropriate for the day's conditions. Quick-drying, sun-protective clothing is recommended, along with rain gear when necessary.

Although most trips focus on the White River, the team also guides the Tippecanoe, Flatrock, and Whitewater Rivers. Larger groups can be accommodated across multiple boats with advance planning, making this an option for families, groups of friends, and other outings.

Come see why Jason and his team are so passionate about Indiana's river fishing and spend a full day floating, learning, and chasing Smallmouth Bass in the heart of the Hoosier State!

About Your Guide

Jason D.

Independent Guide
Jason's passion for fishing started almost as soon as he could walk, when his grandfather, "Pops," first put a rod in his hands. He grew up fishing Bayou Lacombe in Louisiana and picked up his first fly rod at age 10, beginning a lifelong pursuit that later took him to the waters around Yellowstone during summers in college.

After settling in Indiana, Jason turned his attention to learning the West Fork of the White River, spending more than 20 years
exploring the river from rafts and drift boats. That experience eventually inspired him to begin guiding and introduce more anglers to a fishery he believes is one of Central Indiana's best-kept secrets.

Today, Jason guides alongside a team of passionate local anglers who share his enthusiasm for Smallmouth Bass, fly fishing, and Indiana's rivers. The crew welcomes everyone from first-time fly anglers and younger fishermen to experienced anglers looking to sharpen their skills. They're patient teachers who enjoy sharing their knowledge while helping guests experience a side of Indiana they may not have seen before.
