About Your Trip

Why chase one of Southern Oregon’s signature gamefish when you can have a shot at both? Join Captain Tyler for a full day on the Rogue River during one of the most exciting stretches of the season, when King Salmon and Summer Steelhead can both be in play.

This 7-hour trip gives you plenty of time to work the river and adapt to the day's conditions. Tyler may have you drift fishing, bobber dogging, jigging,
spinning, or working light tackle as you search for chrome-bright Steelhead and powerful Chinook Salmon.

Late summer into early fall is a beautiful time to be on the Rogue, and Tyler considers this one of his premier trips of the year. The scenery only gets better as fall approaches, but the real draw is having two of the Pacific Northwest's most iconic fish swimming the same river.

Everything you need to fish is waiting for you, including rods, reels, tackle, and instruction. Whether you've chased salmon and steelhead for years or this is your first time fishing a Western river, Tyler will walk you through the techniques and keep you dialed in throughout the day.

About Your Guide

Independent Guide
Captain Tyler, better known as Captain Gordo, is about as local to the Rogue River as it gets. Born and raised along the river, he grew up fishing, rafting, hunting, and exploring Southern Oregon and caught his first Steelhead on the Rogue at just 3 years old.

That early start turned into a lifelong passion for the outdoors. Tyler later served in the U.S. military, taking that passion with him around the world and gaining experience that helped shape the
professionalism, preparation, and work ethic he brings to every trip. He began professionally guiding in 2020 with the encouragement of family members and mentors who are guides themselves.

Today, Tyler specializes in showing anglers the incredible Salmon and Steelhead fisheries of Southern Oregon. He can fish guests from a customized 17' Pavati accommodating up to 4 or a customized Willie Raptor jet boat capable of accommodating groups up to 6.

Just as importantly, Tyler enjoys teaching. No previous fishing experience is necessary, and he'll coach anglers of all ages and skill levels through the techniques needed to be successful. Families and kids are welcome, and his goal is to provide a professional, approachable day on the river whether you're chasing your first Steelhead or returning to Oregon for another shot at a trophy Chinook.
