About Your Trip

Hit the waters of Lake Michigan with Captain Bill for five hours of trolling for some of the lake's most sought-after Salmon and Trout!

Launching from Milwaukee, you'll head out aboard a 28' Luhrs sportfishing boat and follow the bite wherever conditions point you. Depending on the season, Bill may have you chasing Chinook and Coho Salmon, Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Pink Salmon, and other fish moving through the area.

Trolling is the name of the game here, and Bill brings decades of Lake Michigan experience to the program. He'll adjust the spread, trolling speed, depth, and location based on the season and what the fish are doing that day. Trips can take you as far as 10 miles offshore when that's where the productive water is holding.

Bill welcomes anglers of all experience levels and enjoys teaching along the way. If this is your first time fishing the Great Lakes, he'll help you understand the setup and make sure you're ready when a rod goes off. Experienced anglers are just as welcome to jump in and enjoy one of the country's most unique freshwater fisheries.

The 28' Luhrs is purpose-built for this style of fishing and comes equipped with outriggers, downriggers, GPS, fishfinder, radar, livewell, and plenty of equipment for a productive day. There's also a toilet, air conditioning, refrigerator, kitchen, and other amenities onboard, and the boat is wheelchair accessible.

Rods, reels, tackle, lures, and catch cleaning are included, and a First Mate will be along to keep the spread working and help your group throughout the trip. You'll need to purchase your Wisconsin fishing license before heading out.

Bring some bottled water, snacks, non-spray sunscreen, and sunglasses, and get ready to experience Lake Michigan with a captain who's been fishing these waters for more than five decades!

Captain Bill has been fishing Lake Michigan since 1968, giving him more than five decades of firsthand experience on one of the largest and most dynamic freshwater fisheries in the world.

What began as a passion for fishing eventually developed into a career on the water. Over the years, Bill has learned how Lake Michigan's Salmon and Trout move with the seasons, how changing conditions affect the bite, and how to adjust a trolling program to consistently find productive water.

Today, Bill specializes in targeting Chinook and Coho Salmon, Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, and other seasonal Great Lakes species. His approach is built around paying attention to the details, from trolling speed and lure presentation to depth, water conditions, and seasonal fish behavior.

Bill also enjoys sharing that knowledge with his guests. First-time anglers are welcome, and he'll take the time to explain what's happening and help you feel comfortable with the equipment. If you've spent years fishing yourself, he's just as happy to talk fishing and give you a firsthand look at how an experienced Lake Michigan captain approaches the day.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
