About Your Trip

There’s nothing quite like chasing bass in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. With scenic shorelines, rocky structure, and plenty of water to explore, this trip is all about getting out on the lake and putting your skills to the test. Whether you're a seasoned angler or just getting started, you'll have the chance to target largemouth bass on some of Central Texas' best-known fishing lakes.

Depending on conditions and the day's plan, you'll
fish Lake LBJ, Lake Buchanan, or Lake Travis, working areas that offer opportunities to hook into hard-fighting largemouth bass. Choose between a 4-hour half-day trip or an 8-hour full-day adventure, giving you the flexibility to enjoy a few hours on the water or settle in for a full day of fishing.

Beyond the fishing, you'll get to take in the rugged beauty of the Hill Country, with limestone bluffs, rolling hills, and wide stretches of Texas lake country setting the scene. Bring a valid Texas fishing license, drinks, snacks, and lunch for full-day trips, along with sunscreen, sunglasses, and weather-appropriate clothing.

Whether you're looking to sharpen your bass fishing skills or simply spend a day outdoors with a rod in hand, this Hill Country adventure is a great way to experience Central Texas from the water.

About Your Guide

Independent Guide
JR is a proud husband, father, Pop Pop, and longtime Kingsland local who has called the Texas Hill Country home since 2008. After years spent coaching basketball and mentoring young athletes, he traded the hardwood for the water—where he’s always felt most at peace.

Fishing has been JR’s lifelong passion, and for the past eight years he’s turned that passion into guiding others. Whether he’s helping a first‑timer learn the basics or coaching his grandson’s fishing team—something he had the
joy of doing this past year—JR brings patience, heart, and decades of experience to every trip.

You’ll find him most days on Lakes Buchanan, LBJ, and Travis, where he’s spent countless hours studying the water, chasing bass, and competing in tournaments. Over the years, he’s participated in and won numerous fishing competitions, but what matters most to him is sharing the joy of a good catch and a good story.

For JR, guiding isn’t just about fishing—it’s about family, memories, and helping others experience the Hill Country the way he loves it.
