About Your Trip

On this exciting multi-day experience, Federico takes his more adventurous guests to even more remote areas of the headwaters. This is the epitome of adventure angling, not for the faint of heart. Only a limited number of anglers will have the opportunity to enjoy this unique angling experience every season.

In the vast wilderness areas of Bolivia, there are still places untouched by man, places that hold unthinkable beauty. It is in places like this
that biodiversity is at its highest expression. The Casare’ River is located in an indigenous territory that boasts an unbroken expanse of jungle and incredible biodiversity. Found nestled in the meeting point between the Bolivian Amazon and the Eastern slopes of the Andes Mountains of Bolivia, it is, to say the least, one of the most isolated and remote places in the world. Its inaccessibility has granted its protection for millennia.

There are few places in the world that have so many good things going on at the same time, as it happens here in our rivers. The landscape is undoubtedly breathtaking, with its lush jungle covering the hills and mountains that choke the banks of this clear water river. The isolation and remoteness of this area has kept it pristine, holding healthy populations of fish in quantities seldom seen nowadays in any river. The structure of the river itself allows for this particular fishery to be fished by wading or drifting, and even offer opportunities to sight cast at fish. The most unique characteristic of our fishery though, is the ability to catch trophy golden dorado (and an array of other species) on the fly, in a small mountain-stream-type river. In addition, you are surrounded by jungle that is alive with a seemingly infinite collection of plants, and the wildlife that interacts with it. The opportunity to become a part such a setting is what makes this fishery so special.

Nobody ever said it would be easy. Most of the fishing is done by wading in the river, through slippery rocks and boulders. The jungle has a lot of tricky ground and there are always things to look out for in this wild landscape. The insects and the elements can pose a challenge. However, no place worth seeing, is easy to get to, and nothing worth doing, is easy to do. This place represents just that, and is the epitome of wilderness, likely one of the most remote and wild places you will ever visit. It is an experience most believe has been lost to development decades ago. With Federico, he aims to join the excitement of fishing and exploration, and share it with adventurous anglers worldwide!

This is not just a fishing trip, it is a JUNGLE ADVENTURE. Fly camps are used to keep you on the move in these remote areas; large dome tents, cots, dining meshed tent, bathroom tent/outhouse-style toilet, solar bag showers, generator. Your chef will prepare a mix of local and international foods, a big breakfast and dinner, as well as a packable lunch for you to enjoy on-the-go. Federico will travel far up the waters to take you into the most pristine reaches of the river system.

The Tsimane team will lead the way showing you a rare view into the way they travel through and negotiate their terrain, digging or moving rocks and cutting fallen timber to make way for the canoes, doing whatever necessary to push on further. Watch in awe as they go on gathering food and a variety of jungle supplies for their families along the way, as hunter gatherers in their lineage have for centuries. Their ancient skills, strength and jungle ingenuity will come into play right before your eyes as you make your way into the deep green jungle. Feel what it felt like for explorers back in the golden age of exploration!

This is more than just a fishing trip; it is a journey through the jungle wilderness with an expedition team lead by native Tsimanes, in which your ONLY mission with Federico is to move your team into the most remote corners of this river system in search for BIGGER AND MEANER jungle gold!

**Included:**
– One professional English speaking fly fishing guide for every two anglers.
– An entire expedition team comprised of more than a dozen local Tsimane guides, half dozen local guides, Chef/chef helper, and 2-3 professional english speaking fly fishing guides.
– All camping gear included EXCEPT sleeping bag and travel pillow. Sleeping pads and cots for the spacious dome tents are provided.
– Airport Meet and Greet, Five Star Hotel, Round-Trip Private Charter Flights, Professional Fly-Fishing Guides, Local Indigenous Guides, Guide-Operated Boats, Camp Accommodations, Cuisine, Fees and Permits, Equipment

**Itinerary:**

Friday: Arrive Viru Viru International Airport (code VVI). One of our team members will meet you and transfer you to Los Tajibos Hotel and Convention Center. Check in and rest for an early morning departure to the jungle. (night of hotel included in package price).

Day One (Saturday): Have breakfast and then transfer to the charter flight for the 2.35 hour flight to the jungle airstrip. Arrive and begin transfer to the main camp (Approximately 3 hours canoe ride upriver). Arrive and get settled in your tents and geared up. Lunch and introduction briefing. Then separate into 2 teams and fish around the home beats. Return back to camp before dark to pack for our expedition further up river the next day. Welcome dinner and rest.

Day Two (Sunday): Breakfast. Anglers will finish packing and leave their cargo in front of their tents. The entire expedition team will already be loading cargo on our fleet of dugout canoes and making sure they have all the necessary supplies properly packed. All together as an expedition team you'll begin your river ascent deep into the uppermost headwaters of the river system. You will take turns (leap frog fishing) on your way up, stopping to fish at choice spots to maximize fishing and efficient use of the daylight. You will cover various pools, rocky and woody structure, runs/riffles, back-eddies and more, while navigating the river. While the team negotiates all these obstacles and takes care of pushing our expedition fleet upriver, the professional guides will handle the guests, putting them on different fishing scenarios hunting down dorado and other species along the way. Packed lunch on-the-go to take advantage of daylight. The expedition team will eventually arrive at the campsite, unload cargo and set up camp, while the guests continue fishing upriver. You will arrive to a complete camp set up for you to have a bath and enjoy dinner and much needed rest.

Day Three (Monday): Early breakfast. Pack gear up and load onto canoes. The guides will go ahead first with the guests, fishing their way upriver in “leap frog” fashion. The expedition team will lag behind them, moving camp to your next campsite for the week. Shore lunch on your way upriver to more fishing adventure. The guests and professional guides will continue fishing the rest of the afternoon, and then turn back in time to make it to your new campsite before dark. Dinner and rest.

Days Four-Six (Tuesday-Thursday): Breakfast. Anglers and guides will split into two teams and switch through beats every day, -or move all together ‘leap frogging’ your way, each taking turns beat by beat, day by day, working your way up even higher up the headwaters. There is enough water and enough fishing opportunities for each of the maximum of 4 anglers in this expedition to get at least 2-5 chances at a nice sized fish every day, and of course some days chances will be double that or more. Your guide will decide when it is time to return to make it back to your last camp or fly camp. Dinner and rest.

Day Seven (Friday): Early breakfast, begin packing for return to Casare Camp. Make your way downriver with guides and anglers leading the way. You will stop at choice spots to fish. Have your packed lunch on-the-go. Arrive to Casare Camp early afternoon and fish the home beats. Return to Casare Camp for dinner and rest.

Day Eight (Saturday): Early breakfast and guests finish packing. Anglers and guides will begin fishing downriver to the jungle airstrip, fishing their way down choice spots. Packed lunch on-the-go. Then arrive late morning to the jungle airstrip for departure to Santa Cruz. (Departure to Santa Cruz is subject to being postponed due to external factors, such as weather, random Bolivian political issues, among others. Please be advised that Federico considers your safety first, always, even if it means losing flights. Federico will not be responsible for any extra charges associated with any changes required there-forth.) Once in Santa Cruz, either a transfer directly to the International Airport or, you will be transferred to the hotel. (2nd night included in the package).

Day Nine (Sunday): Breakfast at hotel and transfer back to Viru Viru International Airport for your flight/connections back home. (Transfer to airport included in package.)

Join him in their never-ending adventure to explore the secluded and wild Golden Dorado fishery of Amazonian Bolivia. Traverse uncharted terrain and immerse yourself in the pinnacle of off-the-grid explorative fly fishing.

Having explored together all over the most remote reaches of Bolivia, Patrick and Federico have developed a tried and tested relationship and a seamlessly professional work product. Their extensive knowledge
of this unparalleled ecosystem, unrelenting commitment to safety, and passion for catching and releasing apex Golden Dorado establish their excursions as bona fide trips of a lifetime.

Captain Patrick is originally from Santa Cruz del la Sierra, Bolivia and attended Texas A&M. He applied his degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Management (with an emphasis on Conservation and Ecology) to the Bolivian Amazon with resounding commitment. He has over 12 years of experience organizing and leading jungle expeditions in the Bolivian Amazon, granting him extensive understanding of the local flora and fauna, ecology, and biology of the region.

He is also an experienced angler, specifically in the fishing methods and strategies (fly fishing, spin casting, bait casting, lure casting) used in the local jungle rivers for native Golden Dorado, Tabarana (Silver Dorado), Yatorana, Pacu, Surubi (Striped Catfish), Muturo (Jao), and Sabalo.

Captain Federico, also a proud Bolivian from Santa Cruz de la Sierra, attended University of Texas at Dallas, majoring in Political Science and Government. Federico's proudly earned 15+ years of experience leading fishing expeditions through Amazonian Bolivia for Golden Dorado and other native species.
