About Your Trip

Bass fishing is a popular activity on Lake Travis, with many anglers coming from all over the country to enjoy the excellent largemouth bass fishing. Hop on board with Captain Jake for an exciting day on Lake Travis.

The lake's more than 18,000 acres of water and numerous underwater structures provide ample opportunity for successful bass fishing trips. In addition, the flooded vegetation around the lake creates ideal conditions for largemouth bass to spawn and feed. Anglers who join Captain Jake are bound to catch some monster Largemouth and Striped Bass.

Captain Jake can accommodate 3 people on these 4-hour (half-day) and 8-hour (full-day) adventures. During this trip, you will learn the latest and most effective techniques and how to adapt your presentation to your environment. No fishing experience is required! Anglers of all ages and skill levels are welcome. Heavy-duty spinning or baitcasting gear is often necessary in order to handle the largemouth bass that are found in the lake.

Anglers who Join Captain Jake on his beautiful bass boat will be well on their way to having a successful Bass fishing trip on Lake Travis. All equipment will be provided including high-quality fishing rods and a variety of lures. Also, life jackets are provided for all guests during the trip and sharp hooks will be handled by your guide. You’ll want to bring food and drinks of your choice (no glass), sunscreen, a hat, an ice chest for your day’s catch, and, of course, some great company.

Jake provides all rods, reels, tackle, and lures. His is Skeeter Bass fishing boat is powered by a 225 HP Yamaha motor and is equipped with a state-of-the-art Humminbird Fish Finder. Be sure to purchase your Texas fishing license, pack sunscreen, a hat, and polarized sunglasses, and get ready on the water!

Jake brought my brothers and me out onto Lake Travis for Guadalupe Bass. Jake put all of us onto Guads and multiple other species as well. Jake was great with explaining everything he did and how to best use different techniques for catching fish. He was also incredibly friendly and personable and was hands down the best guide I’ve ever been on. This was honestly one of the funnest days of fishing I’ve ever had, and it definitely was for my brothers as well! I will probably make another trip with my brothers in the future with Jake for another great day! I highly recommend Jake to anglers of any experience who want to get on some nice fish and just have a great time! Thanks again for a great time, Jake! Jake is great! We booked a 4hr bass fishing trip on Lake Travis after reading his Captain Experiences page. As someone who has never done bass fishing, I needed to learn the basics. Jake was super patient showing us the ropes. We learned how to reel in, set hooks, cast and dislodge stuck lures. We also caught nearly 10 bass including a couple of Guadeloupe bass. I would certainly book again.

We really enjoyed our trip with Jake. It was only supposed to be a half day (4 hours) but it ended up being a 5.5 hour trip! Jake really has a passion for fishing and that is obvious and makes the experience so great. It was just what we needed! We will definitely go with Jake again!
