Head out to Freeport, Texas for a wicked nearshore adventure with Captain Rodney! Captain Rodney will show you various reefs and wrecks, explore the jetties, and or troll the nearshore water all brimming with quality fish and surrounded by beautiful nature.

Captain Rodney will help you chase Cobia, King Mackerel, Big Redfish, and many other seasonal species (Like Red Snapper). For these 5-hour trips, Captain Rodney will take you out aboard his brand new 33' WorldCat. This puppy is powered by two brand new 2022 Suzuki 300hp motors and all the latest technology and gear. This vessel is set up to provide a luxuruious and comfortable experience for you half day adventure!

These trips are great for families - Captain Rodney loves teaching little ones about the various species that call the Gulf of Mexico home.

Make sure to bring a valid Texas fishing license as well as snacks and drinks of your choice (no glass). Everything else is included in the trip price - rods, reels, tackle, bait, fuel and an icebox for snacks and drinks, so you don't have to worry about surprise fees when you get back to the dock! FUEL IS INCLUDED IN ALL PRICING!!!

Captain Rodney runs the trips for his family-owned and operated charter business based out of Freeport, Texas. Captain Rodney will get you fishing the Gulf nearshore and offshore waters and will work hard to ensure you have a fantastic and fun day out on the water.

Captain Rodney has been a Coast Guard licensed captain since he was 18 years old. He holds a 50 ton masters license, Texas saltwater guides license, the required National Marine Fisheries permits, and is fully insured.

Rodney started working on a charter boat at the age of 10 in the state of Maine, where he grew up living on Mouse Island with his Grandfather Lou. It was here his love for the water and boating all started.

Captain Rodney will be happy to show you the most productive methods to reel in your target species. Techniques include fishing with light tackle, bottom fishing, trolling and drift fishing, and depending on conditions and the time of year you fish, you may find yourself chasing after Mahi Mahi, Kingfish, Cobia, Shark, Jack Crevalle, Red Snapper, Redfish, Black Drum, and more. Trips include rods, reels and tackle, live bait, lures, as well as cleaning and filleting of your catch at the end of the day.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.
We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancel for free up to 7 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 7 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.
In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Capt Rodney was wonderful. At the beginning of trip he asked what we were looking for during this fishing trip. We said we wanted some good fish.
After getting our Red Snapper limit very quickly we had a lot of time left so he asked if we wanted to fill ice chest or try for some other game fish. We wanted to try for better game fish. We headed further out in search of fish. He spotted some floating grass so we trolled for some Mahi. Got one and missed one. We then headed out again.
We then stopped and rigged up trying to find some tuna. On first pass we hooked up on a Wahoo for a good fight and catch. We continued to troll hooking up on more Wahoo and BkackFin Tuna.
We finished up and headed back in due to storms in our area.
All in all it was a great trip, not only because of the catches we made but because of Captain Rodney. He took the time to make this “our trip” and a trip we would remember. Captain Rodney was a wonderful Captain and Host. We will be back to see him. Thanks Captain Rodney.

We had several fish on our wish list that we wanted to try and catch and Captain Rodney did everything he could to make it happen. We took the 12hr trip and made several long runs going after black fin tuna and grouper but they just weren’t cooperating that day. Went for the Red Snapper and we killed them. They were huge and finished up the day with my son catching a 7ft 400lb...

They were huge and finished up the day with my son catching a 7ft 400lb bull shark and fighting it for over 1.5hrs before getting it in. Captain Rodney was very helpful in making sure he landed the fish even though they knew it was going to put him getting back late. It was a great experience for all of us and will most definitely be booking another trip with him in the future
