About Your Trip

Start out your day with Captain Ricky by netting some live bait close to shore, then head out into the waters of Oregon Inlet to hunt down some Cobia, Sharks, and Amberjack (known as "reef donkeys" for the stubborn fighting). You'll sightfish for Cobia, who can often be seen right on the surface, and jigging for Amberjack, who prefer to hang out around reefs and underwater structure. During the second half of this trip, you'll switch targets and practice your bottomfishing, looking for Black Seabass, Triggerfish, and Snappers. As you head in at the end of the day, you'll get a chance to troll for King Mackerel and False Albacore—both lightning-fast fish that love to fight hard. There's no better trip if you're looking for variety—if it swims, Captain Ricky will help you hook it!

You'll be spending the day aboard a comfortable 42' Guthrie sportfisher with plenty of space to lounge and hang around with your family and friends, a shade top to keep you out of the sun, and even a bathroom. This versatile boat is perfect for fishing the different conditions around Hatteras, including inshore and offshore trips. Aboard, Captain Ricky has three fish finders, four GPS’s, two VHF radios, radar, and Sirus XM radio so that you can listen to your favorite genre of music while fishing.

Captain Ricky will provide everything you need for a perfect day on the water, including rods, reels, bait, and tackle. His goal is for everyone to have a blast and to catch a bunch of fish! Remember to bring proper clothing, a hat, and sunscreen.
