About Your Trip

If you'v been hunting for an epic shallow-water adventure on the Texas Gulf Coast, Captain Andy is your man. He loves fishing that "skinny" water and is an expert when it comes to hooking fish.

When you're out in the marsh with Andy, you'll be focused on two Texas classics: Redfish and Flounder. These fish are totally different, and require different approaches depending on the conditions and the time of year.
In late summer, the
Redfish move back into shallow water marshes, where they can munch on shad and finger mullet as they prepare for their spawn in late fall. The fish get super aggressive during this time of year, and will bite on a variety of baits and lures.

Captain Andy runs his trips aboard a 19' Excel F4 Shallow Water Series. She's a badass boat that's built for shallow-water fishing, with an ultra-shallow draft, bow and stern lights for night trips, coolers, a wireless trolling motor, and equipped with a Gator-Tail XD series air cooled mud motor.

In order to provide attention to each of his clients, Andy limits his trips to 3 people, not including himself. This gives everyone room to fish and him room to pole, rig terminal tackle, bait hooks, and so on.

Captain Andy will provide everything you need for a truly memorable trip, including all the rods, reels, tackle, and other gear. All you need to bring is sun protection, proper clothing, a pair of sunglasses to cut glare, and your Texas fishing licenses. Get out there and see for yourself what the Texas Gulf Coast marsh is all about!

I HIGHLY recommend Captain Andy for his excellent guiding skills and can-do attitude. Unlike many other Guides, he works with a network of other spotters who watch for birds all across the state. He left his home at midnight and arrived at our shooting location at 1 AM to make sure other eager hunters wouldn't grab his spot. The result was an excellent hunt of mixed bag ducks, sprinkled with humor and education about wingspotting....
