About Your Trip

his trip is perfect for anglers looking to chase big, aggressive freshwater sportfish in South Texas! On this trip, you'll be fishing Falcon Lake for big ol' Catfish, Gar, and Largemouth Bass—three big-time species that are exciting for anglers of all levels.

Each of these species has totally different behavior, prey, and naturally, you'll use different fishing techniques to hook 'em up. Gar are ambush predators that hunt near the middle of the water column,
grabbing baitfish and even small birds and animals in their sharp teeth. You'll use cut bait on steel leaders to hook these prehistoric predators, which fight extremely hard and can be a real challenge to get on the boat! Catfish are bottomfeeders that eat all kinds of baits. You'll bottomfish for these big fish, and then fight them up to the surface on heavier tackle. Finally, Largemouth Bass are opportunistic feeders that love to hit worms, baitfish, frogs, and more. You'll fish for these guys using light-tackle cast and retrieve techniques with a variety of baits and lures.

You'll be fishing aboard Captain Joshua's 19’ boat She sits high in the water and has plenty of shade to keep you cool and comfortable in the Texas heat. Get out there and start hookin' 'em!

About Your Guide

Joshua L.

Independent Guide
If you're looking for an authentic South Texas hunting and fishing experience, Joshua is your guy. A seasoned tournament angler and expert on Falcon Lake, Joshua brings serious skill to the water—whether you’re targeting trophy Gar or casting for bass. But his passion doesn’t stop at fishing—he’s equally at home guiding waterfowl hunts across the Rio Grande Valley.

Born and raised in the area, Joshua established his outfitting operation in 2021 with one goal: to create a flexible, rewarding, and
down-to-earth experience for every client. Whether you're hunting public or private land, he’s all about staying mobile and going where the birds are. His philosophy is simple—hunting is hunting. Some days you limit out, other days you don’t—but every trip brings its own stories, surprises, and moments that stick with you.

Joshua strives to make every outing hands-on, educational, and real. Whether you’re brand new or a seasoned hunter, he’s all about sharing knowledge, learning from others, and forming lasting bonds with the people he meets along the way. Over time, many of his clients don’t just return—they become family.

That family spirit is woven into every trip. Joshua’s own family plays an active role in supporting the operation, and two of the hardest-working team members are Moose and Goose—his loyal Labrador retrievers who love nothing more than tracking down your game and wagging their tails with pride. Watching them work is often a highlight of the day, especially for first-time hunters and kids.

If you’re looking for more than just a hunt or a day on the water—if you're looking for real connection, local knowledge, and an experience that feels like home—you’ll find it with Joshua. Come for the outdoors, stay for the camaraderie. You’ll leave with stories, smiles, and maybe even a few new traditions.
