About Your Trip

Head out to Freeport, Texas if you’re in for a true fishing adventure and pay a visit to Captain Rodney. Captain Rodney will show you various reefs and wrecks, all brimming with quality fish and surrounded by beautiful nature.

Fishing in this nearshore zone with Captain Rodney is a great trip for anyone who hasn’t been offshore fishing and wants to wet their feet, but also great for the experienced fisherman who doesn't want to
be pounded by the surf that hauling 50 miles out demands!

Captain Rodney's crew will help you chase Trophy Bull Red (Red Drum), Shark, Kingfish, Spanish Mackerel, Red Snapper (seasonally), Catfish, and more, depending on the time of year. You might even get a surprise and catch a Ling or a Mahi Mahi. For these 5-hour trips, Captain Rodney uses his 27’ Center Console which provides a truly great fishing experience! These trips are great for families - Captain Rodney loves teaching little ones about the various species that call the Gulf of Mexico home.

Make sure to bring a valid Texas fishing license as well as snacks and drinks of your choice (no glass). Captain Rodney will provide the rest - rods, reels, tackle, and an icebox for your day’s catch.

Enjoy your day on the water with Captain Rodney!

When Captain Rodney was laid off in May 2016 from the oilfield, his son was also diagnosed with cancer. He immediately had to find an alternative resource to support his family. He had owned his 27' Catamaran, "Revelry", since 2012 and figured he'd have to sell her to make ends meet. Instead, Captain Rodney's wife told him that he should put the boat to work given his love of fishing. And the rest is history!...

of 2016 his charter fished over 1,000 customers, and now, Captain Rodney & Co. have 4 boats in the fleet!

Epic fishing trip! Friends and family fishing is good but fishing with these guys is great. Extremely professional crew (Capt. James) with extensive experience. They separate the real from the fake; they blow the competition out of the water. I give them two thumbs up, 5 stars, and a 100% recommendation.

Hello Fellow Fishermen
My wife 😍 and I really enjoyed our time. Brittany and Matthew did a super job with helping us to catch fish and safety. This was the fondness and most adventurous Father's Day I ever had. Capt Rodney was nice and Johnathan our tour planner. I'm looking forward for this time next year. I have already booked my 🏨.

The guide was not inviting. He never introduced himself and had no concern for our well being. We had two guests who were sea sick and he never showed any concern. While he did finally agree to bring them back to shore, his lack of respect for us as customers and human beings was not professional.
