About Your Trip

Take a trip with Captain John and experience the great fishing that Lake Michigan has to offer! Lake Michigan is the third-largest of the Great Lakes and the fifth-largest lake in the world, with just over 22,000 square miles of surface area. It's loaded with fish, including famous sportfish species such as King Salmon, Coho Salmon, Steelhead, Lake Trout, Brown Trout, and Rainbow Trout—all of which you can target on this trip with Captain John.

On this trip, you'll primarily be trolling lines to attract big Salmon, which love to hit fast-moving baits and lures. When these powerful fish take the hook, you'll feel it! Once that rod is in your hands, bring your A-game, because these fish fight hard. You'll also have the opportunity to drop your lines deeper to hook up some massive Lake Trout, which prefer the deeper, colder parts of the Lake. Whatever you're hoping to catch, Captain John is an expert in finding, hooking, and fighting fish in these waters.

You'll be fishing from the deck of his 35' Donelle Downeast Cruiser. As an owner and operator, Captain John believes that comfort along with seaworthiness are two of the most important tools that a charter boat should offer. His boat features comfortable seating for all to enjoy their charter fishing trip. As you view photos of the Memory Maker, note the large deck that enables customers to have plenty of fishing room to fight fish and net fish with ease, which causes less stress on you, the fisherman. When able to maneuver and comfortably assist with netting or landing a fish, Captain John is allowed to set lines more quickly and efficiently.

Remember if your lines are not in the water, you're not fishing. Captain John's boat is also outfitted with plenty of room for coolers and extra gear that you "the fisherman" would like to have on your outing. She is also equipped with a private washroom facility and a comfortable heated wheelhouse, which provides sanctuary for you and your group from any inclement weather that may occur during your outing.

Your captain will bring everything you need for an ideal trip, including rods, reels, bait, and tackle. John and his crew will also clean and package all your keepers at the end of the trip. All you need to bring is a Wisconsin fishing license with the appropriate stamps, a cooler with snacks and drinks, proper clothing, sunscreen, and a smile! Get out there and enjoy the clear, cool waters of Lake Michigan with Captain John!
