About Your Trip

The Marquesas Keys is a magical destination for backcountry fishing in the Florida Keys! This island group lies roughly 26 miles off Key West and is a secluded location known for its beauty and exceptional fishing. Captain Kyle has a ton of experience fishing this area, and can put you on a huge variety of species in varying depths of water. With shallow mangrove channels, broad flats, and shallow patch reefs that house a bunch of tropical species, this diverse environment is ideal for anglers who want to cross tons of fish off their bucket list!

Another great aspect of the Marquesas Keys is the shallow wrecks that surround the island chain. A lot of these wrecks are actually refugee boats and derelict vessels that are exposed to the surface. Some of the other wrecks are considered “target wrecks” that the United States Armed Forces used as target practice for aerial assault practice years ago. These wrecks hold lots of reef species, as well as classic sportfish, so there's something for everyone.

On this trip, you'll be on board Captain Kyle's 25' Pathfinder 2500 bay boat, which is a shallow-draft vessel perfectly suited to tackling the different types of water here in the Marquesas Keys. With dual Power-Poles, a Minn-Kota Riptide trolling motor, Simrad GPS and Sonar (fishfinder), VHF Radio, Livewell, and more, you'll be set up for the fishing trip of a lifetime!

Captain Kyle was born and raised in Saint Petersburg, Florida. He grew up fishing the Tampa Bay area with his dad and grandfather. He has always had a passion for the water and the environment. He graduated high school in St. Petersburg and got his Captain’s License shortly after. He has been extremely serious with his fishing career ever since, always trying to better himself and learn different parts of the industry. He moved to Key West shortly after obtaining his captain’s license in 2009 and fished non stop, as a full time career.

He knows the waters in the Lower Keys to the Marquesas Keys. He fishes the flats, backcountry, reef, and offshore. Captain Kyle is a true sportsman and is great to be around on the water. He loves teaching kids how important it is to preserve such a beautiful environment so they can enjoy it through their childhood just like he did. Captain Kyle is very flexible and will try and create a custom charter catered to the goals of his anglers.

Kyle was a fantastic guide for us! One of the best fishing trips I have been on and I have fished on a lot of guided trips. Everything was handled great by Captain Experiences on the booking and communication side and Kyle was top notch on the fishing trip. We will definitely use you all again.
