Private land alligator hunts are conducted year-round and offer a highly targeted hunting experience focused on harvesting the specific size alligator each client is looking for. These hunts take place on managed private properties that include ponds, lakes, and reservoirs with strong alligator populations.

The experience begins with glassing from a distance, carefully scanning the water and shoreline to locate alligators of different sizes. Multiple animals are often visible at once, allowing for careful evaluation to select the right target based on the hunter’s goals.

Once the appropriate alligator is identified, a slow and deliberate stalk begins. Despite their calm appearance, alligators are highly alert animals with excellent senses. They can detect movement, smell, sound, and even subtle vibrations through the ground and water. Because of this, closing the distance requires patience, control, and precise movement.

The stalk is often the most intense part of the hunt. Depending on terrain and conditions, hunters may move along open banks, through thick vegetation, or along the water’s edge while keeping constant visual on the target. Every step matters, and small mistakes can easily alert the animal and end the opportunity.

Getting within comfortable shooting range is not always easy. Each situation is different, and conditions on the property determine how close you can safely and effectively get. This variability adds challenge and excitement to every hunt.

Once in range, hunters must remain steady and focused for a quick and ethical shot opportunity. Success depends on patience, timing, and execution after a careful approach.

Lodging info: Excellent accommodations are available for over-night guests. Our cedar lodge features a large porch where hunters can kick back after a hard day’s hunt.
Time to retreat to your room with private bath, a.c., satellite t.v. and comfy bed!
(4 rooms: 3 have double beds, 1 has queen bed).
Note: All meals are included in accommodations!
All home cooked meals using our wild exotic meat native to Indian Land.

You'll need to buy a hunting license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a QR Code boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!

In the event of inclement weather, our guides will check the conditions and make the final call on whether its safe to go on the trip. If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
