This is not a guided hunt; it's a drop-off duck hunting extravaganza that puts you in control. Shayne provides the decoy spread and private blind so you and your group can enjoy your own experience. Bring your own guns, camouflage, dogs, duck calls, etc. You don't need to be an expert duck caller either, or bring one at all for that matter! Ducks on the Texas Coast will fly into your spread no matter what! The best duck hunters will tell you less calling is better anyhow!

Spectacular Waterfowl Variety:

Now a Captain he started his own charter business in 2021 with his wife Sarah. Captain Shayne is a true water rat with an enormous passion for fishing, and has turned to guide fishing to share his passion and experiences with young and old, new and experienced anglers alike. His gentle teaching approach brings a sense of calm and trust among the young and novice anglers. His experience and knowledge of the region opens huge opportunities for the experienced angler. Light weight clothing for warmer days. Cold weather clothing!! Coffee/hot chocolate. Duck and goose calls. Waders. Your retriever if you have one.

You'll need to buy a hunting license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 7 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account.

If the weather doesn’t cooperate you’ll be covered by our 100% weather guarantee and you won’t lose your deposit.

Great fishing trip. Shayne communicated with us prior to the trip answering an questions we had. He picked us up right on time and we got right to the fishing. Wind was howling and seemed to get higher as the night went on. We had chosen the night trip because that was the only time we could go and we love night fishing anyway. Not too many guides offer that. He took us into protected areas and we had a blast. Fish were not cooperating, but he worked hard to get us on some fish that were feeding. Got two really nice redfish and one keeper speck. Just want to thank Shayne for a great overall experience! J and J.

Captain Experiences is the home of over 1500 Damn Good fishing and hunting guides. Our mission is to unlock the outdoors for everyone, and we want to help you get out there through our no-hassle online booking experience and our team of outdoors experts.

We vet our guides to make sure they are the best of the best. We want guides who not only put you on 'em, but show you a great time, keep you safe, and give you a memorable experience with your group.

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a QR Code boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!

In the case of inclement weather, our guides will make the call and we'll work with you to reschedule your trip or issue a credit for the full deposit of the trip to be used on any of our trips across the country. Your safety is our top concern.

Each trip’s price is set by the guide and factors in all of their costs. A big determinant of cost is often the type of boat and associated fuel costs, but other guide costs include leases, marina / slip fees, bait costs, and the cost to provide and maintain all of the gear you’ll need on your trip.

Once you book the trip, we will connect you directly with the guide to go over any additional details. In the meantime, our team is always available to answer your questions via email, text, chat, or call!
