About Your Trip

Join Captain Mike for a fun and relaxing half-day smallmouth bass fishing trip on the scenic lower Kennebec River. This is a great option for anyone looking to spend a morning or afternoon on the water, enjoy beautiful river scenery, and get into steady action with aggressive smallmouth bass in a laid-back setting.

The trip takes place on a peaceful stretch of river best explored by fishing raft, allowing you to quietly float with the
current while covering productive water at a natural pace. The Kennebec is known for its healthy smallmouth bass population, and these fish are often eager to strike, especially around current seams, rocky structure, and river bends where bait tends to concentrate.

Fishing is done with light tackle and casting techniques, making the experience active and hands-on without being complicated. Whether you are throwing soft plastics, jigs, or other proven river lures, the focus is on simple presentations that consistently draw reaction strikes from feeding bass. When conditions are right, it is common to experience steady action and multiple hookups throughout the trip.

Captain Mike keeps the experience approachable for all skill levels, making it a great choice for families, beginners, and experienced anglers alike. Instruction is provided throughout the trip, so even first-time anglers can quickly get comfortable with the basics while still enjoying real fishing action.

One of the highlights of this trip is the setting itself. The lower Kennebec River offers a mix of natural beauty, calm stretches, and light rapids, creating a relaxing backdrop while you fish. Floating along in the raft adds a unique and peaceful rhythm to the day that sets this experience apart from traditional boat fishing.

This half-day trip is designed to be easy, fun, and productive, offering a perfect balance of relaxation, scenery, and smallmouth bass action with Captain Mike on the Kennebec River.
