About Your Trip

Get ready to chase some of the most prized salmon on the West Coast—legendary Rogue River Springers! Join Captain Dillyn for a full-day adventure targeting Spring Run Chinook, one of the hardest-fighting, best-tasting fish to ever swim upriver. These fish are fast, powerful, and show up in big, tidal-driven waves—so when the bite turns on, it's pure chaos in the best way.

You'll be fishing from Captain Dillyn’s brand-new 22’ Willie jet boat, custom-built in
2024 and powered by twin Yamaha engines for a smooth and efficient ride upriver. Outfitted with a full Bimini top and a heater, this boat keeps you comfortable no matter what spring conditions throw your way.

The main technique on this trip is backbouncing cut bait (usually anchovies) while anchored in key travel lanes where the salmon push through. Captain Dillyn knows this river inside and out—he’ll have you posted up in all the right spots where fresh chrome-bright Chinook are pouring in with the tide. When one hits, you’ll know it instantly… and then it’s game on!

This trip is ideal for all skill levels—from seasoned salmon hunters to families and first-timers looking to get in on the action. All rods, reels, bait, and tackle are provided, and Captain Dillyn will clean and fillet your catch at the end of the day so you can take home the freshest salmon possible. Feel free to bring along your favorite snacks and drinks (just no glass), and if you’ve got a favorite fishing playlist, Bluetooth speakers are onboard so you can set the vibe.

With flexible morning departure times between 6:00 AM and 8:30 AM, you can hit the tide at just the right moment. And with kid-friendly and disability-accessible accommodations, this trip is built for everyone to enjoy.

If you're after a shot at one of the most iconic salmon fisheries in the Pacific Northwest, this Rogue River spring Chinook trip with Captain Dillyn is the real deal. Bring your layers, your camera, and your lucky hat—because once these fish start rolling in, you’re going to want to remember every second of it.
