Grab a 10wt, your big boy pants, and come on down to Louisiana to find out.

Less than an hour from downtown New Orleans, world-class saltwater fly fishing is closer and more accessible than you might think. A city famously below sea-level, New Orleans is surrounded by water, and it just so happens that this water is teeming with redfish.

Louisiana redfish make the perfect
sight-fishing quarry. They’re big, plentiful, readily eat flies, fight like the dickens, and reveal themselves in a variety of exciting ways. They can “tail”, tipping down and breaking the water’s surface with their caudal fin - a clear sign of a happily feeding fish. They can “crawl”, navigating water so shallow their entire backs are out, or simply cause a ruckus, splashing water into the air while attacking bait with reckless abandon. No matter how you spot them, these bruisers will test the limits of your gear, your mettle, and provide you with a truly unique fly fishing experience. Just be warned - it’s very addictive!

Peak redfish season begins in fall and lasts through winter, but Louisiana is really a year round fishery. Sight fishing is best when the wind lays down and the sun comes out and that can happen any time of year.

Why choose us?

Will is a fifth generation Louisiana native and lifelong fisherman with intimate knowledge of his home estuary and the fish therein. Whether it be on fly or spin tackle, his focus is shallow water sight fishing for redfish throughout the inshore marshes of South Louisiana.

Capt. Will runs a plush East Cape Evo 18’ poling skiff making the long runs here in comfort, stocked with top of the line fly and spin gear rigged with the local favorites redfish can’t get enough of. He is usually chasing bulls on the outer fringes, but on those blustery days, slot fish on the inside provide endless entertainment. Fully insured and USCG licensed captain.
