About Your Trip

Half a day on the Muskegon River with Captain Matt puts your group on one of Michigan's most celebrated trout fisheries, guided by someone who knows this river and its fish with the kind of depth that only comes from years on the water. The Muskegon is a world-class trout river, drawing anglers from across the Midwest for its consistent populations of brown trout and steelhead that hold in the cold, clear flows year-round.

Captain
Matt reads the river and puts your group on the most productive water based on the season and current conditions, sharing techniques and knowledge throughout the trip that make the experience as educational as it is enjoyable. Whether your group is made up of experienced trout anglers looking to dial in their presentation or complete beginners picking up a rod for the first time, Captain Matt adjusts the approach to match the skill level in the boat and keep everyone engaged and fishing effectively.

Your group fishes from an 18-foot river boat purpose-built for navigating the Muskegon's varied water, from the deep runs and seams where trout stack up to the shallower riffles and structure that hold fish throughout the season. The boat provides a stable and comfortable platform for a half-day on the river without sacrificing access to the water types that matter most.

All gear is provided and all experience levels are welcome. Captain Matt and his crew handle everything from rigging to fish-fighting coaching so your group can focus on the river and the fishing.

Book your half-day Muskegon River trout trip with Captain Matt today.
