Join Paul for an unforgettable 3 night, 2.5 day mixed-bag wing shooting adventure in the heart of Tamaulipas, Mexico, one of the most diverse and productive bird hunting regions in North America. This all-inclusive trip is designed for hunters who want nonstop action across multiple species and habitats, combining quail, duck, and dove hunting into a single, fully guided experience.

Your journey begins with convenient transportation from Harlingen directly to the lodge and back, making travel seamless from start to finish. Once you arrive, everything is taken care of for you. The pricing is all-inclusive, with the exception of shells and tips, allowing you to focus entirely on the hunt. For groups of 6 or more, the lodge becomes exclusively yours, creating a private and comfortable setting for your crew to relax, share meals, and prepare for each day in the field.

Tamaulipas is truly a wing shooter’s paradise, offering an incredible density and variety of bird species throughout the season. This mixed-bag itinerary includes 2 quail hunts, 2 duck hunts, and 1 dove hunt, giving you a dynamic and well-rounded experience across multiple days in the field.

Duck hunting takes place over decoys in small freshwater ponds and lagoons scattered throughout the region. Natural blinds are strategically prepared in advance to provide excellent concealment while maintaining natural shooting lanes. These setups are carefully chosen based on scouting and bird movement, ensuring hunters are consistently positioned in productive areas.

The diversity of waterfowl in this region is exceptional. Teal species are the most commonly encountered, providing fast-paced action over the decoys. In addition, hunters may encounter a wide range of species including Goldeneye, Ringnecks, Pintail, Ruddy Ducks, Whistling Ducks, Bluebills, Shovelers, Canvasbacks, Buffleheads, Gadwall, Wigeon, Mottled Ducks, Specklebelly Geese, and Snow Geese depending on seasonal movements and local conditions.

Quail hunts take place across productive ground known for strong bird populations, offering fast-flushing action and traditional upland excitement. The combination of dogs, open terrain, and covey rises creates a classic hunting experience that contrasts perfectly with the waterfowl portion of the trip.

Dove hunting adds another layer of excitement, with opportunities to target White-Winged Doves, Mourning Doves, and European Collared Doves. These fast-flying birds provide steady shooting and round out the mixed-bag experience with high-volume action.

Paul and Jose have built a wingshooting destination rooted in tradition, world-class dog work, and an unwavering commitment to the hunter’s experience. From the moment you arrive, their combined passion and expertise set the tone for an unforgettable adventure.

Paul began guiding and working dogs as a teenager and has spent the past 25+ years immersed in the hunting industry—from top-tier preserves to international booking, to leadership roles in hunting apparel. His knowledge spans everything from habitat management to gun dog training, all aimed at delivering authentic, walk-up bird hunting behind well-trained dogs.

Jose was born into a hunting family and raised in the outdoors of Tamaulipas. His father and brother both competed internationally in skeet shooting, and the family ran a well-known hunting and fishing operation near Lake Guerrero. Jose brings a lifetime of field experience, deep local knowledge, and a sharp eye for finding productive ranches. His connection to the region ensures guests are always in the right place at the right time.

Together, Paul and Jose are preserving the legacy of traditional quail hunting—wild birds, great dogs, warm hospitality, and attention to every detail. Whether it’s your first trip south or a return visit, you’ll feel like part of the family and leave with memories that last a lifetime.

You'll need to buy a hunting license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

This trip is managed by an outfitter. Paul will be your point of contact and you will go out with one of their guides.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

The deposit for this trip is non-refundable except for weather-related cancellations. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

In the event of inclement weather, our guides will check the conditions and make the final call on whether its safe to go on the trip. If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
