About Your Trip

Head out for an exciting light tackle nearshore fishing adventure on the beautiful Atlantic waters with Captain David, exploring the East Coast shoreline near St. Simon’s Island, Jekyll Island, and Brunswick, GA. If you're looking for a fun, fast-paced fishing trip that’s perfect for anglers of all skill levels, this is the trip for you. Whether you're bringing the family or gearing up with friends, Captain David will show you the ropes and lead you to some of the most productive nearshore fishing spots.

On this trip, you’ll be targeting a wide range of species that thrive in the nearshore waters just a short ride out from the marina. Captain David specializes in light to medium tackle fishing, making it an ideal setup for beginners, families, and seasoned anglers alike. You'll be fishing in waters around 40 feet deep, which means plenty of action without the long haul of offshore fishing.

Expect to reel in a variety of fish, including but not limited to Hogfish, Spotted Sea Trout, Snook, Red Drum, Amberjacks, Cobia, Porgies, and a huge variety of Snapper, such as Cubera, Lane, Mangrove, Mutton, Queen, Red, Vermilion, and Yellowtail Snapper. Grouper fans will be happy too, with chances to hook into Nassau, Black, Gag, Red, Scamp, Yellowfin, and Yellowmouth Grouper. You’ll also find plenty of Black Sea Bass, Redfish, Spanish Mackerel, Whiting, and more species that are abundant in these waters.

These trips are perfect for first-time fishermen or families with kids of any age, as the nearshore reefs and wrecks are only a short ride from the marina. With a minimum trip length of 4 hours, you’ll have plenty of time to get in on the action while still keeping things relaxed and fun.

Captain David provides everything you need for a hassle-free fishing experience, including rods, reels, tackle, bait, and your fishing license. The boat will also be stocked with ice to keep your catch fresh. After your trip, Captain David will clean and fillet your catch for you, following all state and federal regulations regarding size, bag limits, and seasons.

With Captain David’s expert guidance and passion for the local waters, you’ll be sure to have a great time, whether you’re chasing your first catch or checking off species from your bucket list. All you need to bring are your favorite snacks, drinks, and some good tunes—the boat is equipped with a supersound Bluetooth system so you can kick back and enjoy the day on the water.

This nearshore trip accommodates up to 6 anglers, making it a great option for small groups looking for an exciting day of fishing. Captain David can’t wait to welcome you aboard for a memorable day on the water. So grab your crew, pack your cooler, and get ready for a fantastic fishing adventure you won’t forget!

Independent Guide
Captain David was born in Wichita, Kansas, and raised in Bermuda and New Jersey, Captain David grew up fishing the Ocean’s Turquoise and Blue Azure waters of the Atlantic with his father since he was 3 years old. Shortly after graduating from high school, David began the greatest adventure of his life, joining the United States Navy, traveling the far reaches of the entire Globe, and doing a little fishing along the way in exotics ports around the globe. After retiring from 20 years of Naval service, David’s passion for boating and fishing grew when he was introduced to chasing Monster redfish in the St. Simon’s sound and the many other species of fish in the surrounding coastal waters of Coastal Georgia.

Captain David has gained plenty of experience in trading larger-than-life fish tales with the best. From Trolling from a moving Aircraft Carrier in the South Pacific to Catching Ulua from the Rocky Cliff in Hawaii to Chasing and Landing Monster Striped Sea Bass in the Lower Virginia Chesapeake Bay, they are stories you won't want to miss. Fishing and saltwater are in David’s veins, and you’ll enjoy a day of fishing the waters of SE Georgia and the Beautiful Golden Isles.

With more than 30 Years of maritime experience aboard US Navy ships, Military Aircraft, and Submarines, David earned his Coast Guard issued 25-ton Captain’s license in 2021. All of his life experiences have given him the professional skills and knowledge to ensure safety while operating his charters and general maritime operations for both large and small craft, all while showing his clients a great time on the water.
