This is for a half day guided muskie fishing trip on the Wisconsin River, Castle Rock lake, and Petenwell Lake potentially, depending on the bite. Muskies are known as the fish of 10,000 casts but I'd like to think I make it one in 500 casts.

About Your Trip

This is for a half day guided muskie fishing trip on the Wisconsin River, Castle Rock lake, and Petenwell Lake potentially, depending on the bite. Muskies are known as the fish of 10,000 casts but I'd like to think I make it one in 500 casts.

The time of the year with water temperatures and air temperatures will determine what lures I am having you throw as well as if we are using live bait. My best muskie trip with clients was two young kids caught 6 muskies (3 each) and lost 4 other muskies in 5 hours. I also had a Dad book two trips in one day (he brought one son with each time) and they caught 9 muskies for the day (4 in the morning and 5 for the evening) plus they lost 6nother muskies, an experience that family will never forget!

I do start my trips depending on the sunrise and sunset. The best time for muskies can be in those no light to ambient light early morning hours and vice versa with the evening. I will start my trips around 30 minutes to an hour before sunrise depending on skill levels as many trips find their first muskie in that first hour. If a third person wants to come with that is fine as I've had parents go together with their child but due to the size of the lures and rods, only two can fish at a time. With kids there is a too young as the equipment and lures even on the small side of the equipment I have can seem big. 9-10 years old I would say is the cut off unless they are big for their age. Time of the year can also increase the odds of your child catching their first Muskie and possibly more! May and fall with live bait can be the best chance for a child to catch one or more even if they have difficulties casting. June-Aug can be good as well for casting for kids as the top water presentation is a simple concept to grasp and when a muskie explodes from the water after the lure, the child is hooked!

I do also offer night time muskie fishing trips throughout the year, as certain times of the year they can switch over and primarily feed at night which can produce some absolute giants!

You will be responsible for your own gear. Richie will be in touch to discuss details before the trip.
You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.
We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.
In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.
