About Your Trip

Step onto the bow of a technical poling skiff and prepare for a focused, exciting day of sight fishing with Captain Donnie. This 4-hour flats trip is designed for anglers who want a more refined, targeted experience chasing Florida’s most iconic inshore sportfish. Whether you're casting light spinning gear or fly fishing, Donnie will tailor the experience to your skill level and goals.

This is an all-release trip, built around the thrill of the fight
and the art of the stalk. You'll be poling through gin-clear shallows and mangrove shorelines across the legendary waters of Islamorada, Key Largo, Marathon, and even into Everglades National Park, depending on conditions and the season.

Your potential targets read like a flats fishing bucket list: spooky Bonefish, acrobatic Tarpon, tailing Permit, feisty Snook, and even the occasional Bull Shark cruising in shallow water. Every cast is a shot at a memory.

You’ll be fishing aboard an 18’ skiff, perfectly built for stealth and precision in the flats. With only two anglers on deck at a time, you’ll enjoy an intimate, technical fishing experience. The boat is equipped with everything you need to chase fish in skinny water and comes stocked with live bait, though artificial lures and flies are often the go-to for these species.

Trips start at 9:00 AM, and Donnie is happy to adapt to your style—whether that’s working on your double haul, getting kids their first Bonefish, or quietly chasing tailing Permit on glassy flats.

All tackle is included, and you’re welcome to bring beer (just no glass) and hook up your favorite playlist via Bluetooth audio.

This is a top-tier Keys experience for anglers who want more than just a bent rod—they want a challenge, a story, and a shot at one of the most thrilling fisheries in the world.

Independent Guide
Born and raised in the heart of Islamorada, Captain Donnie is a proud third-generation fishing guide carrying on a family legacy that runs deep in the Florida Keys. Sharing the business with his father, Captain Ted, Donnie continues a tradition built on passion, expertise, and a love for these legendary waters. Together, they cover the island chain from Key Largo to Marathon, and even the remote backcountry of Everglades National Park—offering unforgettable days on the water for anglers of all skill levels.

Captain Donnie got an early start—hooking his first fish at the age of three and never looking back. By 15, he had his first boat and was already mastering the art of poling the flats, learning firsthand from some of the Keys’ most seasoned guides. Now with over a decade as a licensed captain under his belt, Donnie brings a refined knowledge of the Florida Bay, its tides, and the fish that call it home.

Whether you're after tarpon, redfish, snook, shark, trout, or bonefish, Captain Donnie tailors each trip to your goals. He’s just as enthusiastic about helping kids land their very first catch as he is about chasing trophies with experienced anglers. Donnie’s easygoing nature and clear instruction make every trip feel fun, stress-free, and full of discovery.

With a guiding philosophy rooted in conservation and respect for the environment, you’ll not only leave with great memories—you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the unique ecosystem that makes the Keys so special. As Donnie puts it, “I live for the joy and excitement I see in my clients’ faces when they catch that one fish they’ll remember for a lifetime.”

Get ready to fish the Florida Keys like a local—with a captain who’s spent his life exploring every inch of it.
