About Your Trip

Get ready for a fun, action-packed day on the bay with Captain Jeff, a seasoned local expert who’s spent countless hours learning the ins and outs of these waters. Whether you're a first-time angler or a seasoned pro, Capt. Jeff’s laid-back style and deep knowledge of the tides will have you fishing like a local in no time.

You’ll be targeting a variety of inshore favorites like Flounder, Redfish, Speckled Trout, and other seasonal species
such as Black Drum, Sheepshead, Mangrove Snapper, Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, and more—depending on the time of year. You’ll be fishing with live bait and artificial lures, and most of the day will be spent drifting with light tackle, giving you a great shot at hooking up while enjoying calm, shallow waters. It’s usually just a 30-minute ride to the fishing grounds, so it’s an easy trip for kids and adults alike—with no sea sickness to worry about.

Capt. Jeff runs a 20’ Skeeter bay boat, ideal for navigating shallow inshore waters while providing a smooth and stable ride. The boat has room for up to 3 passengers, making it a perfect choice for small groups, couples, or parent-and-child fishing duos. All rods, reels, and tackle are provided, and live bait is included—just check with the captain beforehand to see if you’ll be catching it yourself.

Families are more than welcome on board, and kids are encouraged to join in the fun. If you're bringing little ones, be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available. Snacks and drinks are also welcome, and moderate alcohol consumption is permitted, just skip the glass bottles and hard liquor. Some drinks will be provided, but let Capt. Jeff know if you'd like to bring your own cooler.

Your fishing license is included, and the captain is happy to explain any seasonal regulations about which species you can keep and when. At the end of the trip, Capt. Jeff will clean and bag your catch, so all you need to bring is your sunblock (non-spray), polarized sunglasses, and a good attitude.

With calm waters, great fishing, and a friendly, knowledgeable guide, this bay trip with Captain Jeff is the perfect way to experience the Texas coast like a true local.
